I’m not entirely sure if they’re gonna be sticking with this niche, but with lyrics like, “I stopped searching for the holy ghost because I’m in hell,” you can’t help but think that these guys aren’t Bible-thumpin’ church-goers.
Every aspect of his pictures are flawless; the attention to detail shows not only immense dedication and artistic control, but proves that he truly can conquer any subject matter.
It’s so positive, and his classic, iconic wavery voice is incredibly prominent and I love it. “There are hundreds of ways to get through the day, there are hundreds of ways, so just find one.” He’s releasing a solo record on May 20th, and it’s going to follow this more country-tinged direction.
Compared to the original, I prefer this version. It’s so much more raw and pure, and though you could say that about any of the band’s music, this version is just so much more beautiful to me. It’s lovely.
Also, that man can shred on the guitar; he’s such a well-rounded musician, which could be said for all of them, making these boys at the forefront of the CT scene, to me. The pushing and dancing around during their set was incredibly fun
It was so small and intimate, and the crowd’s energy really made it feel like a classic punk show, which seems to be the case in the CT house show/small venue scene. Tanner ended up saying, “I haven’t smiled this much during a set in forever,”
“We are coming for everyone. I promise. The only breaks we take are to finish writing this new album. Please hang with us.” I can’t wait to see these guys live again. And if they’re not coming to your area, they promise they’ll be around. Just be thankful they’re touring at all.
There’s also no denying that the band is a quartet of extremely good-looking boys, so that’s a plus and probably is the reason for their increasing fan base. It’s obviously big-budget, and has an expansive feel.
His gritty and dynamic voice filled the room, and my eyes were locked on him. His passion was overwhelming, and he had such a strong presence.
They describe themselves as, “A confusing jumble of swaggering cockiness, crippling self-doubt and downright ambivalence delivered over big riffs and little sparkly parts and some medium stuff in between. Baritone vox, three people, word-centric, party time.”
The energy and passion Brendon put into it mirrored that of when he was nearly ten years younger, when Panic! was just starting out. His ‘swagger’ and persona were overwhelming, and my eyes were glued to him.
Anthony’s voice is the best it’s ever been. It’s warm and lovely, and feels like a hug. That’s one thing I’ve always loved about Bayside- no matter how hard and heavy their music gets, Anthony’s voice resolves it and leaves it just a bit softer. It’s so unique and hard to pull off, but they do it perfectly.

This caused a lot of controversy- A Day To Remember even refused to play a show knowing that Moore was going to be in the audience. It’s made and broken some musicians’ careers, and caused a lot of trouble.
His voice is obnoxious even when he just speaks, and there’s absolutely no redemption. It sounds like he’s a 14 year old prepubescent kid in his basement who just got comfortable enough to swear to himself and is trying to sound cool. It’s awkward and unnatural, and I can’t stand it.
It almost has the same feel as something written by Explosions In The Sky. Though Explosions is entirely instrumental, it puts the focus on musicianship in the same way Nothing does. It’s entrancing and is an aural sedative.
“Quit Yr Job” is the first tune off a 8-track release called “Being Nice Is Still Cool”. I love how it starts with powerful group vocals, cos it caused me to be instantly captivated. It’s an angsty tune and flows right into “High Waisted Shorts”, a beautifully composed piece that I can’t stop listening to.

the band jumps into the 27-second jam “Black Mass”, and it’s probably my favorite track of the whole album. Though incredibly quick, it forces you to listen to it over and over again because it leaves you hungry for more, and hey, I’m not complaining.
They can really appeal to fans of every genre; the vocals are stunning, the musicianship is fascinating and impressive, and the overall sound is pleasant and anything but boring. An older song of theirs, “Reverie”, is an absolute masterpiece.

It’s taken so long for someone to say it, but all these sugary lovey pop songs are all the same exact song that’s been sung all along, just by a new face and a new ‘brand’.”
“Piñatas, baseball bats, silly hats, weird antics- it’s whimsical and hilarious. Then once they involve silly string and water balloons, it’s a whole other story. It’s clear that they were just being themselves and enjoying being doofy with one another.”

Even the average joe who doesn’t really know much about depression or anything of the sort can get a grip on it.
In a minute and a half, you’re sucked in and need more. The lyrics are creative, too. “It may not be the best idea to sit outside his flat or chain yourself to his front door or steal his dear old cat; he may have loved him more than you, but there’s no time for that. And do not spend all day waiting for him on Facebook chat.”
It’s incredibly cliched and a massive step down from their other works that I can remember. They weren’t always so mainstream-sounding. “Harlem” was even a little funkier. Nonetheless, “Tonight You’re Perfect” is just disappointing.
“”You know what I think’s really sad? I know how really sad you are,” is the opening line. This is quite a way to start anything; it’s a harsh and sharp song, and seeing Bryan Sella sing it is a different experience than just listening to the studio version. “
I never really imagined him being too versatile, considering he’s been with TBS doing the same thing for 13ish years. However, he’s just expanded his horizons exponentially. He’s an incredibly talented guitarist, and that really shows in this tune. It’s the real backbone of it all, and he’s a seasoned musician in all aspects
“I’m as much of a mess now as I was when I was 16.” It’s so true, and to see Morrissey the God acknowledging this fact makes him feel just a little bit more human. Oh, and he’s about to record a new album.
He also was extremely passionate and it made everyone snap to attention as soon as he started playing guitar. I couldn’t believe how great his musical ability was- he’d clearly been playing for a long time to be that polished and perfect.
“Devil In My Bloodstream” was the part of the set that I didn’t care about crying anymore. I lost it. The song is so honest and emotional, talking about depression and what it does and how it affects people- even though it was an acoustic show, there was still yelling of the lyrics and no one held back
“They’re raw and strong and feel so pure, which is hard to find. Put together, this was all it took to get me hooked on the band. Then the group vocals came in. That’s when I knew there was something special about these guys; usually group vocals sound lame or stupid, but these are great.
I love how the band experiments with tempos and isn’t afraid to break patterns; it keeps their music exciting and unique and strange. The punk element of their music shines through in this song with the shouty vocals and intense drums. It feels rushed and classic, like it could be from a punk band who was big in the late 70s. It’s brilliant.
“As if all the emotion and gorgeous lyricism wasn’t enough, then comes a bit of humor. “This is for the lake that me and my friends swim in, naked and dumb on a drunken night and it should’ve felt good but I can hear the Jaws theme song on repeat in the back of my mind.””
I mean, c’mon, he was half naked for 3 straight minutes in that “Girls/Girls/Boys” video. It’s like the same concept of Miley Cyrus, just a bit let scandalous. He knows how he sings a note will determine how many people download the song or the odds of it getting on the radio. He’s a manipulative genius.

Watching Mat, you could notice his focus and his voice was fantastic and the lyrics really resonated. For me, Elvis Depressedly always felt like a persona, not a person. Seeing it right in front of me made it feel so incredibly real and solidified my love for them.
“I grew proud to be a part of my local scene. This band has a ridiculous amount of potential and I know that they’re going to just continue growing- to be able to have just seen them in their living room before they get massively popular is really freakin’ cool.”
“The Great American Cult tour is not only brilliantly titled, but brilliantly supported. Four Year Strong, Daylight, and Mixtapes are the supporters. This is a diverse and wonderful lineup that will not only draw the pop punk crowd, but the rougher post-hardcore crowd as well.”
“The tune “You’re Invited” is weird and almost feels creepy. The vocals are odd and choppy and mirror the techno feel that is unlike anything he’s ever done before. “My mind is playing tricks on you” has an MGMTesque vibe and it begs the question, “what the heck even happened.”…He’s so fleeting and flighty that his ambiguity can’t even be mistaken for ignorance or innocence.”
“This is much more calm than I imagined, and it’s fantastic. Now, we’ve heard the band pour their heart out in slow tunes like “Honeybee”, but never before like this. Even the guitars sound sad. The violin mixed in creates a swirling sound of encompassing warmth, like a hug. “
“It almost feels like a scene in Skins, or an old punk scene. Seeing a bunch of guys just hanging out and having fun and being friends is so cool to see, and everyone in the pop punk scene claims it, and don’t quite show it as genuinely as ND did in this video. It’s adorable.”
