Taylor Swift released this mini movie/big production for ‘Wildest Dreams’ on Sunday, and it looks like a Karen Blixen remix with her song for soundtrack. Nothing in the song suggests Africa, but this is nevertheless where the video was shot, because Taylor probably thought she would look good in colonial outfit or Scheherazade veils in front of lions and exotic animals.
The song brings some nostalgia for Donna Summers’ ‘She Works Hard For The Money’, with a modern twist, combining soul and an energetic dance over some infectious beats. weareTheBigBang was listed in Music Connection Magazine as ‘one of the best-unsigned bands to see live’, which can be easily understood from the video below, a playful mini-movie directed by Emmanuel Fordjour.
Of course the story of the video, if you can say that it has a coherent story, is about Rihanna and her gang kidnapping the wife of a rich accountant, so the fans’ kidnapping story was totally making sense in this context, but isn’t it a lot of effort for a short movie? According to the participants, the whole deal, including the wait to get in the bus, lasted 4 hours, 4 hours of their life to see a 7-minute clip!…Still they got to see and meet Rihanna, which has to be priceless if you are a fan. Plus she poured dollar bills on the crowd, so it was not too shabby.
I have never been a fan but Madonna used to set the trends, to re-invent fashion and influence culture, she was a leader. Now look at this video, the bad pink hair extensions, the bad twerking, the bad use of the obliged female rapper, she just look like a follower.

I am not a big fan of EDM music – this is the least I can say – and although Grimes is easy on the eyes, this boring rhythms and mellow pseudo-R&B melody, which could have easily been sung by any sexy hot number of the moment, do not excite me at all
