Aerobic exercise in leggings and head band hasn’t been in style since Olivia Newton John’s ‘Physical’ and Richard Simmons’ striped shorts… These fashion items were hot in the 80’s, more than 30 years ago, however, the band weareTheBigBang is reviving the whole thing in full force with their new video for ‘No’ .

The song brings some nostalgia for Donna Summers’ ‘She Works Hard For The Money’, with a modern twist, combining soul and an energetic dance over some infectious beats. Plus the song makes fun of our exercise-and-dieting obsessed culture.

weareTheBigBang was listed in Music Connection Magazine as ‘one of the best-unsigned bands to see live’, which can be easily understood from the video below, a playful and dynamic mini-movie directed by Emmanuel Fordjour.

According to the press release, the members became friends and started playing music together while finishing their last year of education at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California. They have developed their image and unique sound together and can now be heard on numerous local/ internet radio stations, and have performed at numerous festivals including Bonnaroo, Coachella, SXSW, KIIS FM’s Wango Tango Music Festival, Make Music Pasadena Fest, CES…. And their alt-soul style could well be following the steps of bands such as Fitz and the Tantrums, whose neo-soul revival has exploded all over the place recently.

weareTheBigBang, have released a new EP titled ‘Smoke’ a couple of weeks ago, and with a moniker like theirs and grooves like this one, they should conquer the universe soon. Join them on the dance floor below:
