Depressed: Chelsea Wolfe tries some extreme pain to cheer herself up

The Abyss – Chelsea Wolfe – Being depressed doesn’t make you, by definition, more interesting. Chelsea Wolfe is depressed and I am pretty much convinced she’s a straight drag – C-

Song For Josh – Frank Turner – I did think he was quite good on stage and I didn’t hate hate hate his earlier stuff, but this album has gone from being nothing much to a source of intense irritation in less than a week and this miserable song, about a suicide, has nothing to add to the conversation – D

Drugs Exist – Health – Wow that is kinda fucking stupid. Still, these guys are better than I gave them credit for earlier this week, and the song is brittle yet catchy with a nice fade – B-

Scarecrows – Luke Bryan – The album is the worst thing in the world only because “Strip It Down” is catchy, but the majority is like this moribund crap: it chugs along like a funeral – D

All Is Love – Never Shout – If you like this kinda… I can’t do it. This is a straight drag emo rocker – C-

Undeniable – Tobymac – No religion deserves this sort of a tribute. No God has done anything to deserve Tobymac – D-

Chasing – Worriers – This may be low key, indie rock, lesbian, transy sexy, etc, but man does it stick like glue. Song after song is a runaway hit to these ears. So is this closer – B+
