Are We Having A Lana Del Rey-Eminem-Azealia Banks Feud?

really slim shady

really slim shady

What does Eminem have against poor Lana Del Rey? He has dropped a new clip to promote ‘Shady XDV’, a compilation of his label ‘Shady Records’, with tracks from Dr Dre or 50 Cents, and the video shows a series of rappers doing their usual freestyle stuff. Suddenly, Eminem arrives, angry as ever, bombing one hundred words at the minute, doing his number that excites 14-year-old kids, and toward the end (at 3:53), he drops these very elegant lines:

‘But I may fight for gay rights, especially if the dyke is more of a knockout than Janay Rice / Play nice? Bitch I’ll punch Lana Del Rey right in the face twice, like Ray Rice in broad daylight in the plain sight of the elevator surveillance / ’Til her head is banging on the railing, then celebrate with the Ravens.’

Ravens being the American footballer who beat up his girlfriend Janay in an elevator,… and Eminem’s rage is so visible that I would worry at Lana’s place, is it a threat? Of course not! These are just lyrics, rap lyrics, so why are people all up in arms and taking this seriously?

According to E online, ‘the music video “Shady Cxvpher” is equal parts graphic and disturbing’…apparently they haven’t heard and seen much! Did they listen to Eminem before? And even rapper Azealia Banks took Lana’s defense on Twitter, attacking Eminem: ‘‪@LanaDelRey‪ tell him to go back to his trailer park and eat his microwave hotpocket dinner and suck on his sisters tiddies.’

Are they serious or what? Hasn’t Eminem made a career out of this kind of stuff? Always inciting violence against women, his mother, his wife? I know he is stuck in some sort of rebellious adolescence at 41 and it’s a bit pathetic, but who is counting all these stabbing, beating, killing and rapping in rap songs and videos? Not me…

So far Lana Del Rey hasn’t released any statement, but we all know she loves Eminem, so she will probably feel honored or something like that. However, At Eminem’s place, I would worry, I have had close encounters with Del Rey’s fans, and they are ferocious and extremely defensive, they are gonna slaughter him for sure.
