That’s amazing, these kids are really famous now, I remember reviewing one of their shows at the Satellite a few years ago, and then a few other gigs at different clubs, and now the Los Angeles indie band Irontom is in Rolling Stone, with a new song and a video promoted by Charlie Sheen?

How did this happen? Not that I ‘m shocked, they always give mesmerizing live performances and their music is… oh let’s just listen to Charlie himself, who declared to Rolling Stone: ‘These kids are the real deal. It’s like Led Zeppelin and the Beatles had a baby, and it was raised by wolves.’ And I can’t believe I am approving what this guy is saying!

The video is for their new song ‘The Minista’ and it opens with a black & white indoor mini-concert – which does not prevent frontman Harry Hayes to show us some of his theatrical antics – but it rapidly turns into something way more colorful and sophisticated, a sort of freaky Halloween party or a Venetian masquerade ball with a surrealist theme, happening at some unknown location and hosted by a mysterious masked character coming straight from Kubrick’s ‘Eyes Wide Shut’… And if this looks like a high budget Hollywood movie, there is a good reason: David LeRoy Anderson, the Oscar-winning makeup artist behind films like ‘Men in Black’ and ‘Dawn of the Dead’, styled the whole cast, while the track was produced by ex-Red Hot Chili Peppers Jack irons, also father of guitarist Zach Irons.

The song is catchy and has a furious energy going on, hard hitting with a serious dancey tempo, but watch it till the end as Charlie Sheen doesn’t simply promotes the video, he actually has a cameo in it! And he looks as crazy as usual, Wow are they winning or what?
