“Whether a teenager is writing music, identifying with lyrical and musical themes, or dancing wildly at a live show, the cathartic experience provides a channel for expressing and dealing with a wide range of emotions. The stage was filled with lights, and the stands were filled with smiles!!!! All I did was scream and dance. When we left my legs were killing me, no wonder. Some of the designs on the stage were like doodles, and there were so many lights…it was an amazing balance of creativity and this might be a different point of view, calmness. i thought that some of their songs were calm. When we all started screaming that got them going.
Nothing here thrills me much, it feels like one of the worst summers in immediate memory for singles, albums are OK, as always all over the place but not a terrible year. Still, the singles have had too many weeks like this. Still, congrats to One Direction, who seem cpable of rebounding from anything that is thrown at them.
I really read this one wrong, I’ve had a pretty bad year reading the charts (I thought Demi would be the song of the summer) and I predicted 1D disaster last week and instead they have one of their biggest hits ever, I’d be surprised if it isn’t at the top of the US Charts next week. Plus the fans are as maniacal as ever (hits me as though Zayn was not a fan favorite).
If the Tao of 1D is indeed the fans, the fans were simply rapturous. The screams are still rinigng in my ears and the sight of young girls and their friends forging friendships that will last a life to songs that, well, probably won’t, is good enough a reason to applaud all concerned.

Now, Tay has reached 2 Million units moved she can await the topple next week when One Direction will take over the top place. In my 1D review earlier this week I claimed 300,000 units would be a hit for the band, it looks like it will be 400K. Plus, Harry is the subject matter of a certain song called “Styles”.
The real question is, will it sell? Will it continue the world domination? It sure should, and if it hits 300K units in the States, consider it a hit. But if it doesn’t, I don’t know how One Direction can improve upon it or turn left or sideways or anything but force Styles to get a haircut.
Hmmm, the new new McCartney tribute album looks major to my untrained ears, Savages are back and with a japanese acid punk band from the UK (giving the word “pardon” whole new vistas of meaning, a new Ariel Pink, a new Bryan Ferry which I’ve heard and I like, and Ariel Pink who has never done it for me but there is a first time for every thing, all possibilities. But I expect the new One Direction to be masterful, the songs I’ve heard have been great and anticipation is sky high
If “Fireproof” had the chance of being a fluke, this second song off the upcoming album Four, is a coming of age for the hottest pop band on earth. with every single modern hook imaginable, from handclaps to guitar licks, to voices raised on elongated choruses and another great tune to boot, this makes em two for two and a classic rock band for a different world – A
One Direction should have been and gone. A manufactured boy band who hit it big and should have disappeared just as fast but are releasing their fourth album this year and if “Fireproof” -their best song since “Kiss You” is anything to go by, are not going to disappear any time soon either.
They don’t have a rehearsed set. In fact, I’m not even sure if they sang over tracks or sang live – but it doesn’t matter for those heart throbs. The girls love them. They are foolish on stage. They are silly boys with plain white t shirts, no plan and bad tattoos. But what matters is the music. The songs. The lyrics. The connection. The emotion

Christmas albums past 12-26 are like fireworks Past November 5th (English reference folks, you can use July 4th if you like), useless, embarrassing, you kinda wonder how you got suck into the entire mess and you don’t wanna even think it till after Thanksgiving.
I’ve listened to Beyonce any number of times, and while it may not all be great, not a song is close to bad. And I’ve listened to One Direction any number of times and if a few songs are good, nothing here is great.
Olly Murs isn’t the only album that thrills me here, the Rebecca Ferguson sophomore effort will please you. She isn’t Emeli Sande but her song selection is very very strong and her voice splendid
Where are the Christmas songs? Only Lily Allen constitutes one and none of the others has hit the top ten yet, where is Susan Boyle, Lucy Spraggan, the Fishwives Choirs (no really) and, er, AC/DC. Cowell is pushing SIX X factor songs, none of which are her.
Where is Helen Bach, who woulda been much meaner than I was? Well, she has resigned from the SNL beat and I don’t really blame her. 1D are good sports but boring boys.

One Direction have the best selling opening week of 2013 in the UK but the story here is the revenge of the boy band, if you include Elvis (and why wouldn’t you?) that would make six of the top 10, and the entire top fives all boy band redux.

Voices by the likes of Bill Nighy and Rufus Selwell who act out thought experiments (like the sort you learnt in ethics class back at college, over the album played with most of the vocals removed in celebration of its 40th Anniversary. So where’s “Money”, eh? – B+
I have heard good things about their reworkings of the Everly Brothers songs on the epic Songs Our Daddy Taught Us. Me? I don’t see how on earth the Joe and Jones album can’t suck. So I gave it to 1D
For a pop band, a boy band, a TV reality show band, to maintain it through three albums, well the band have something going on that doesn’t appear to be going on. It seems to be having at the side of your vision. It might be hype but it can’t be all hype.
Though he was so great that time, performing Astral Weeks, performing a “Slim Slow Slider” for the ages that it might very well keep you satiated for years. Just not five years. So his show at the Theater at Madison Square Garden on Monday is more than a giving thanks, it is a benediction. Rumor has it, this may be his farewell tour. You have to hope not.
The Diana in question seems to be using Diana Spencer as a reference for a person’s more general breakdown and the song does what “Story Of My Life” fails to, it is touching but it also moves.
