Google Proof: The Beatles Are Bigger Than Jesus And 1D Is Bigger Than Both

1D are not saying they’re bigger than Jesus, Google Are

It was with pride and humility I discovered last night that I had gone over one million entries on google. Yes, folks, we the few, the cute, the famous!! But then a friend told me he was nearly at 3M!!! After future research I realized his name, unlike mine, was somewhat on the generic side, which means that he got a lot of other peoples entries when you googled his name!

So when I thought up the concept of checking musicians popularity through their google hits there were any number of rock stars who were simply out of contention: Robert Smith of the Cure? Not invited to the party, and even Morrissey will get too many hits from the Director Paul Morrissey. Otherwise… anything goes! Oh, and some iconic figures and odds and sods:

Thanksgiving Day – About 1,490,000,000 results (0.26 seconds) – Wooaaaah, the turkeys are dead meat!

One Direction – About 1,130,000,000 results (0.22 seconds) – Wow, social media mavens for sure

Miley Cyrus – About 754,000,000 results (0.22 seconds) – It’s official, Miley is bigger than the Beatles

The Beatles – About 668,000,000 results (0.22 seconds) – It’s official, the Beatles are bigger than Jesus (around six times bigger)

Taylor Swift – About 493,000,000 results (0.22 seconds)  – The little girls understand

Kanye West – About 403,000,000 results (0.25 seconds)  – Eminently quotable!

God – About 388,000,000 results (0.27 seconds) – God is good, but it’s no Taylor Swift

Jesus Christ – About 113,000,000 results (0.55 seconds) – Gods aren’t what they used to be

Eminem – About 76,100,000 results (0.18 seconds) – But remember, he gets no bleed in with a name like that

Lou Reed – About 65,300,000 results (0.23 seconds) – Death helps with your numbers

Mick Jagger – About 35,700,000 results (0.26 seconds)  – I am not suggesting he die but if Mick did it would help his numbers.

Frank Sinatra – About 24,900,000 results (0.22 seconds) – Death: people forget(ish)

Elvis Costello – About 8,960,000 results (0.25 seconds) – Must try harder

Kurt Vile – About 5,250,000 results (0.25 seconds) – Not bad for an indie star

Conor Oberst – About 1,170,000 results (0.25 seconds)  – Slacker

Iman Lababedi – About 1,130,000 results (0.39 seconds) – I bet this includes some for a certain model married to a pop star
