Dr. Dre Made $20 A Second In 2014!

Dr-Dre-113012

Dr. Dre made the most money in 2014

The music industry may crumble right now but there has never been this much money in the music industry… of course, as usual it only concerns a few people and according to this web site (Skyrange), musicians are making more money than actors or sports stars today! And do you know who was the highest paid of all of them this past year? Dr. Dre! We hardly heard about him, he is more an entrepreneur than a musician these days, but Dr. Dre earned close to $20 a second in 2014, especially because of these Beats headphones he sold to Apple for $3 billion… Dr. Dre earned $620 million in 2014… I can’t even imagine it and I’ve heard that the headphones are not that good actually.

Of course, the next ones are the usual suspects, with Beyonce ($115 million and $3.65 per second), Justin Bieber ($80 million and $2.54 per second), Taylor Swift ($64 million and $2.03 per second), Justin Timberlake ($57 million and $1.81 per second), Bruno Mars ($60 million and $1.90 per second), Katy Perry ($40 million and $1.27 per second), Rihanna ($48 million and $1.52 per second), Pink ($52 million and $1.65 per second), Lady Gaga ($33 million and $1.05 per second), Miley Cyrus ($36 million and $1.14 per second), Jennifer Lopez ($37 million and $1.17 per second)… And this is just for solo pop acts but a few bands did very well too such as the Eagles ($100 million and $3.17 per second), Bon Jovi ($82 million and $2.60 per second), One Direction ($75 million and $2.38 per second), The Stones ($47 million and $1.49 per second), Muse ($34 million and $1.08 per second), okay they have to share, but we are still talking big money.

Rappers are still going strong even those I haven’t heard anything from for a long time, like Diddy ($60 million and $1.90 per second)! Beside this you have Calvin Harris ($66 million and $2.09 per second), Jay Z ($60 million and $1.90 per second), and Drake ($33 million and $1.05 per second). Country super-stars are not doing badly either with Toby Keith ($65 million and $2.06 per second), Kenny Chesney ($44 million and $1.40 per second), Jason Aldean ($37 million and $1.17 per second), Luke Bryan ($34 million and $1.08 per second), and the mammoths of this industry? They are all right: Roger Waters ($46 million and $1.46 per second), Paul McCartney ($71 million and $2.25 per second), Bruce Springsteen ($81 million and $2.57 per second), Celine Dion ($36 million and $1.14 per second), Michael Buble ($51 million and $1.62 per second), Elton John ($45 million and $1.43 per second)… so don’t say anymore that there is no money to make in music! Although it concerns so few artists it is ridiculous, 30 musicians earned over $2.3 billion in 2014, and the rest of them probably got pennies from Spotify streamings. Unfortunately, this reflects exactly any part of our society.
