Here's a lesson for all you boy band wannabes. Know how I was wondering how One Direction hit it big on the charts. Almost lietrally went from unknown entities to King Of The Girlies Hearts? Here is two reason.
1. The bloke who wrote a coupla their songs used to be with McFly -a real good Limey power pop band.
but really
2. One Direction played support for Big Time Rush on BTR current, sold out tour.
Talk about a meeting of band and fan.
It couldn't have gone better for the band.
Nialli Horan said: "The craziest thing was supporting US boyband Big Time Rush – all the fans were wearing our T-shirts and holding One Direction banners, too.''
I bet it was.
I bet it was amazing being inside the band as they watched themselves take off. Plus, it was a lesson in a different type of success. How simple proximity might do it alone.
As these things go, One Direction are pretty good at what they do. There is a reason why Robbie Williams never broke the US boy bands scene -he was too clever for his own good. One direction are just clever enough.
Incidentally, how about Justin? Can he make the leap? Miley couldn't, Taylor could. The difference was songwriting. I like "Boyfriend" a lot… but maybe that's not a good thing.
