They claim to have been influenced by punk rock bands, but I see no signs of this. They’re another shitty pop boy band that I pray is just some flash in the pan. However, you can find pictures of the boys clad in Misfits, Sex Pistols, and other ‘punk band’ merch you can pick up at any Urban Outfitters
IIt’s a weird realization, feeling like I’ve grown out of who I’ve considered my favorite musician for years. I’ll still listen to him, I don’t skip Bright Eyes when it comes up on shuffle, but his newer work doesn’t appeal to me and some of his older stuff is unlistenable. Conor’s grown up, and I have too, and we’ve gone our separate ways.
There was a new digital currency similar to Bitcoin called Coinye, a play on his name, and the logo was a cartoon Kanye wearing his signature shutter shades. I figured Kanye would be a fan, cos he’s in love with himself, but the man was not happy.
We all know that bands like Panic! and fun. have received a lot of backlash for supporting gay rights, which is ridiculous. It’s like receiving backlash for speaking up against racism or sexism. Regardless, the guys turned the controversy into a selfless way of revenge, which was pretty clever.
The years have passed and I still think the “Born to Run” and the “Darkness” LP’s are about the best back-to-back albums ever released by an artist. I still hadn’t seen the man live in concert yet. I lived vicariously through bootlegs, live radio concerts and my brother Jack’s photos of Bruce’s show at The Forum.
The album as a whole is short and sweet, and upon first listen, I thought definitely too short. However, upon further listening, I realized that if it had been any longer, it would’ve been repetitive and simply not as good. I feel like I could never get tired of having it on repeat, which is a quality Joyce Manor’s had since the very beginning
At best the evening (and Mercury substitute) put Queen on life support. Adam Lambert fulfills a dream and the musicians can continue making love to their instruments and bring the larger than life deceased Freddie Mercury back from the dead. “After all these years who would have thought we would have the chance to be rock gods again?”

As soon as I mentioned that he’s been referred to as “the voice of a generation”, he did a full body cringe. “I don’t know who called me that that could be anyone. Anyone on the internet could say things good or bad. I try not to take the bad too seriously, nor the hyperbolic good.
I don’t know what was worse. The fact that he made me wait half an hour, or the fact that he basically just provided me a six minute crappy interview. Maybe it was how I waited half an hour for a six minute crappy interview.
What a difference seeing an entertainer like JT up close and personal! His dance moves, his expressions, I can see everything and the music … I can feel everything. It’s as though the bass and percussion are my life support, if left without the music my heart would stop beating.

She pretty much screwed his career pretty bad all because she was feeling bummed out or something. She’s disgusting and I have absolutely nothing but disdain toward her
Every Time I Die deserves to be playing better shows than Warped. They didn’t have nearly enough people watching their set, which was disappointing, because they truly gave it their all. Warped is taxing and exhausting, and the guys in ETID didn’t miss a beat. Be sure to catch them at your Warped date, and check out their new album.
This new track is heavily lyric-driven, and there’s a lot less focus on the background beats, which helps to accentuate George’s words and voice. It’s just stunning. He starts with, “I’m a phenomenon, and I gotta bring pain in The Octagon. When I wanna spit game at a soccer mom I get it quicker than the left lane in the Autobahn, fast. Like Ramadan, and I battle young padawans all the damn day.”
Six bands total, CTers from all around the state flocked down to the Pulaski to pay homage to the guys who’ve made us all think that maybe our state isn’t too lame. Though incredibly bittersweet, there was too much good going on for it to have been anything less than the best night of the summer.
It’s fun and feels indie, genuinely underground and DIY. I never expected Iero to go in that direction considering he could create some seriously well-produced crisp clean generic music if he wanted to. However, he’s chosen to sound raw and it was one of the best decisions he’s ever made.
Apparently the performance will be visible, but inaudible to spectators. Which is silly, because isn’t the point to hear them play? Unfathomable Ruination commented, saying, “According to the medical professionals who read The Independent, we’re all going to die… Challenge Accepted.”

The band had large inflatable letters spelling TFB, and broke out the wacky inflatable waving arm tube men as well. Their presence was great, and though Brian always says “uncomfortable”, they looked pretty comfortable to me.
Timing is everything. Pressed for time and a lane at the grocery store opens and your next in line. The synchronization of the street lights turning green – GO. Turn on the radio in the car and your (current) favorite song is playing – Stay With Me by Sam Smith. Kept meaning to Google him because there are only so many artists who ‘hook’ me.
He also claims he “personally championed” Meg White for 15 years, but then apologized, took everything back, and wrote a formal letter saying sorry with his tail between his legs. The man’s grown into a bitter cow who’s too busy falling in love with his own work to respect anyone else. I’m, very unfortunately, disgusted.
It’s pretty bare bones and laid back, but when the lead guitar kicks in, it gains even more depth and the riff is unique and unlike anything the band’s ever produced before, but I love it. It’s so odd and shows them expanding their horizons, which is awesome to see.
To be fair, the exposure is probably good for Selena because her career has tanked and she’s struggling to stay relevant anyway. What I don’t understand is why Miley needs to start a feud when she is clearly the one who is more successful and famous than many of her previous fellow Disney stars.
There were two arrests made, for ‘disorder offences’. After this snafu, the police simply decided to let the rave just keep going on, because they didn’t want to cause any more trouble. Uh, what? Haven’t you just caused an extreme amount of trouble and then furthered breaking of the law by condoning the party?
This was not the only incident of violence at this festival either. Two men were stabbed at the festival the same day, apparently during a brawl. One man was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary with non life threatening yet serious injuries and the other was treated on site. Two men were arrested after police were called to the site.
Wentz sure knows how to grow and nurture businesses, having had a clothing line previously. He’s on the right track with renouncing his label with FOB’s ever growing fame, and it makes sense to mention it again post-hiatus. I can’t wait to see who else he signs.

They would change to what is called the Lightning connector, or port, and with Beats, they would make special headphones that would be Apple-only. They’re creating a more and more exclusive market this way.
It feels nostalgic and energetic, the “do you miss me? cos i miss you” tugging on our hearts the way he knows he can. He seems happy and silly and the Gerard I know I’ve sure missed.
They kept their classic pop punk sound, and their noise rock quality. It really sounds like old FYS, and I’m so happy they didn’t change direction. It’s fast and intense and a lot to take in but definitely pumps you up.
I loved the original for such a long time, but that was only because it was all I knew. They not only completely revamped the tune and made it a thousand times better, but it’s more complex and still feels raw, just more like the musicians are experienced.

Morrissey even was joking around and being silly during the show- that’s right, *silly*. He named all the greats who’d played at that opera house, naming all the Golden Girls, threw in an anecdote of how Boston’s history pamphlet advertised that they had the ‘world’s smallest suspension bridge’, and he was slurring a bit, completely comfortable so very casual and jovial. Someone check his BAC?
I later lost my entire collection of CD’s to an ex girlfriend and I didn’t want to deal with (read crazy) wrangling with her to get all of my stuff back, including my life in pictures of 14 years. (By the way, this writing stuff is cool, not only is it therapeutic but you can get info out there that gets you sympathy, and the devil ain’t the only one that needs sympathy sometimes, ah Mein bitter Kampf)

I’m glad someone’s spoken up about it because I see it all the time, and though you definitely can’t avoid being felt up while crowd surfing, apparently there were men deliberately touching this girl inappropriately. There’s a big difference between an awkward touch and an attempt at groping
The little tiny feminist inside me appreciates her as a woman. She is confident, she is strange looking, she doesn’t always wear makeup at big events where she’s walking on a red carpet and being photographed. She’s completely unafraid and stands up for herself.
It sounds robotic, and reminds me very much of “Synecdoche, New York”, how Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s character has a voice following him around the end. I think it’s a nod to it, which is pretty cool because that means Oberst is a fan of the film.

Aaron West and The Roaring Twenties is his latest endeavor, a character study and a way for Dan Campbell to get into a new headspace and write. It’s an artistic adventure that he’s on, and we’re all really proud.
The music was simple to get into, and it wasn’t flashy or smoke and mirrors, it was a basic blending of instruments that just worked and was heavily appreciated by the masses. Generic is too harsh a word but it served as fine background music.
The Decemberists came on when it was starting to absolutely downpour, and some people left and others toughed it out. I was amongst those who bailed; it was cold and rainy and a long day. From what I heard in my attempt to get out and not be soaking wet, The Decemberists definitely still have their niche and a huge fan base
So lo and behold, I am in my early 50’s and the rest of the band is in their upper 40’s but we have this urge to get this music out of our souls still. We have already been through the verge on being the next big thing and the pillaging of record companies on one’s hearts so the pursuit of fame is not an issue here.
I love how the guitar sounds and how it’s stripped down and Brian’s voice really takes center stage. Something about his vocals send chills down my spine, and any time I hear him sing something new I get really giddy.
It sounds so drifty and calm, making it feel distant and perfect background music for a chill day. I can hear this being the soundtrack to a lot of moments this summer- it’s so versatile, and every time I listen to it, I hear something new to love.
It doesn’t feel like Bright Eyes, or Desa, or Monsters of Folk- it’s a legitimate Conor Oberst album. This tune has a little bit of everything for everyone, lovely harmonies and a fantastic surrealistic almost movie-soundtrack backtrack.
Four years ago at age 13 Mary Magpie set out to Worcester MA to interview a long time idol. Meeting up in a corner pizza shop she spoke to Rocket Summer front man Bryce Avary.
I love the aspect of the kids in different animal masks being out in the woods- some might say it’s cliche, but I think it totally works. The shots of the band playing are also beautiful, it’s minimalistic but the lighting and the look of the instruments set the tone.
Of course, it wouldn’t be in the guys’ nature to not have a single tear jerker on the record. “Smooth Jazz” is so depressing I can hardly stand it. I can’t help but have my eyes well up when I hear the beginning notes.
