The song is “All Those Things That I Have Done” which I actually don’t hate as much now that I have had the pleasure of watching Barbara Collins brilliantly synchronized six minute dance video, with 26 dance excerpts set to the Killers song.
I feel so honored because I participated in the making of the video!!! I filmed them during one of their night residency at the Silver Lake Lounge, and they asked me to use some footage. And I said yes of course.
Sesame Street, Cookie Monster, Cookies at all and Icona Pop, these are a few of my favorite things
It is like a caffeine jag or a bad dream but it doesn’t really sound good
, I was immediately struck by the Queens of the Stone Age’s creepy heavy vibe I got from it, it definitively sounds quite a bit like the Mojave-desert band’s last effort
“I was young, fancy free, and Tibetan Buddhism appealed to me at that time. I thought, ‘There’s salvation.’ It didn’t really work. Then I went through Nietzsche, Satanism, Christianity…pottery, and ended up singing. It’s been a long road.” Too bad the pottery didn’t work
A video series of reviews featuring rock nyc writer Mary Magpie giving you her reviews in person (here she is in her bedroom -note the 45s on the wall!). May and her Mommy, editor Helen Bach, have been at rock nyc nearly since its inception and my admiration for both women has grown and grown.
The remix of “One Day/Reckoning” by Asaf Avidan and the Mojos blew up on him and the next thing Jacob knew, the old four on the floor had done its magic again. The song is awesome, extremely catchy and easy to, well, easy to clap along to
The rocking song starts with a throbbing accordion, a lot of clapping-foot tapping, then these fierce trumpets and Miles Solay are announcing the revolt, with some mad dancing over Cumbia-inspired keys and in-your-face vocals: ‘The songs I sing, they can cast a spell/I don’t know no borders and I know them well/These rebels are microphones’
It’s sick and it’s fun, it’s meaningless and it’s terrifying, but if you are used to Lynch’s phantasmagoric cinematic universe, nothing there should really surprise you
Florence’s voice is totally fitting the song – I mean she has some vocal chords, but I was not seen her in the country department and was totally wrong! Whereas she effortlessly pushes the high notes, without June Carter’s raucous tone and taking some liberties with the original, Homme’s voice, although less spectacular, is complementing her quite nicely
This isn’t proto Ramones, it is pro. Sure the melodies would get better, and sure Jooey would thing better, but otherwise, they didn’t change a bit for the next quarter of a century. The leather coats and jeans, the lounging, roaring, tight as fuck, loud fast lRamones are rolling through your brain cells.
It was probably a nice surprise for the large crowd, which, supposedly was not expecting it. But it was way too short for most of them, and after the set, many began to chant and even boo to get more of it.
‘With the help of your camera, you will influence the pacing of the video with your movements. There are no specific moves, just dance with your hands. The camera will detect the movement you are making. The crazier you get, the faster the video will go.”
Around 2pm this afternoon, rock nyc will be exclusively streaming KiLR’s first video “Crazzzy” as part of the always fun rock band’s attempt to get 100,000 clicks on youtube and thereby go viral
Drake and Florence welch have formed a mutual admirtion society. And to prove it, here is Florence with her machine covering Drake’s recent “Take Care” duet with Rihanna which samples the XX!!

Music videos are very often pointless and shallow, but if you stay insensible to this one directed by O’Shea Read for Shadow Shadow Shade’s song ‘Say Yes’, there is no hope for you. The bombastic anthem is used to document the life of an immigrant worker named Alonso Alejo Lopez who struggles to make a…
