Apparently there was another brief half-Black Flag reunion on Sunday night. During the final night of GV30, the celebration of Goldenvoice’s 30th anniversary, Ill Repute, the Dickies, the Vandals and the Descendents were all announced at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, but between two sets, singer Keith Morris, bassist Chuck Dukowski, and Descendents guitarist and drummer Stephen Egerton and Bill Stevenson ran on stage and performed ‘Nervous Breakdown’, ‘Fix Me’, ‘I've Had It’ and ‘Wasted’ in their usual moshing-inducing style.
It was probably a nice surprise for the large crowd, which, supposedly was not expecting it. But it was way too short for most of them, and after the set, many began to chant and even boo to get more of it. Morris came back on stage to calm down the masses saying it was all the songs they had time to rehearse during the sound check, or something like this.
It looked as chaotic as last time when I saw them in July, but I wonder whether they came up with a new name as they did for No Age, err Black Descendents? It's better they passed on that one.
Here is a video of their whole set:
