See I would rather die then have to hear this song again. The 'first song' off the 'first album' for Mr Paisley won him tons of fans and a few haters.
I'm in the later category. A common lament " oh I like all types of music except country', I have heard many times. I can say I don't like country. I don't like song stories. Southern accents equate to 30 points lower of an IQ. Its a horrible generalization its stereotype but sorry that's how I feel.
I can listen to Elvis and Rockabilly but country or contemporary country make me want to shove a branding iron in my ear. Its brutal. I was talking about this tune and from the first twang of the GEEtahr, I hated the song. Not dislike, not anything short of red hot rage hate. Bringin in the fiddle just added more angst to my mood.
I cant for the life of me understand the appeal of this. Its idiotic, its inbred, its a snapshot of the USA that makes me embarrassed to be American. This is what the world thinks of us. Jesus don't just take the wheel but drive this damn thing off to eternity before someone gets hurt.
There has been great debate that heavy rock or metal causes kids to Columbine kill, rap makes kids do drugs and bust caps in peoples asses.
Country makes me want to smash the head in of whatever grits eating corn hole is yodeling out the lyrics. Yes- music can kill.
Its best to keep me away from this Walmart truck stop two tooth trash. Whatever is being said (no matter how timely) will never ever make it to the portion of my brain that will process it rationally.</p>
