A New Video Series Starring Mary Magpie On Our Youtube Channel: rock nyc Comes Alive

rock nyc has a youtube channel you know? Alyson Camus posts all the wonderful videos she makes and the you can easily go on and view them and they are so good sometimes the actual artists take them!

But starting today, we are trying something new. A video series of reviews featuring rock nyc writer Mary Magpie giving you her reviews in person (here she is in her bedroom -note the 45s on the wall!). May and her Mom, editor Helen Bach, have been at rock nyc nearly since its inception and my admiration for both women has grown and grown.

Helen we kinda expect, but Mary is only 16 years old NOW, she was 12 when she first wrote for us, and there seems to be nothing she can't do. On this, episode one of  "rock nyc Comes Alive", Mary takes us through her vastly over rating review of Conor Oberst's solo show. SO, yeah, I think she overstates her case but I still love the way it is written and you should enjoy the extra touch of having the ever expressive Ms. Magpie's enthusiasm is contagious.

Episode two will be coming soon, a pan of Avril Lavigne a little birdie has informed me, and once we get the format down we may have other writers read their reviews as well. I would love to see what Mr. Cabaret Henry Sins can do with the concept….

Till then I also haven't figured out if or how I want to post it here.

But till I do… rock nyc Comes Alive, Episode One!
