Fearless Records used to be one of my favorite labels. A stable of pop punk ( a fake genre btw- who dreamed that one up?) pretty boys with angsty love lyrics and a quick tempo. Now they’re as stale as old biscuits with a roster of the same old same and really nothing much to offer to get stoked about.

Its always sad to watch a band you love decline but that’s what fame will do. They were homogenized and pulverized, wined dined and blow dried until they became nothing more than just another British band. RIP Arctic Monkeys.

The last of the Brothers Gibb or BeeGee’s as they were called is brushing his locks and hitting the road along with his son and niece, daughter of Maurice Gibb. I don’t know about this, first off it is rather funny to have a girl along but at least she can hit the high notes.

I froze my ass off last year at Boston Calling. I gotta say though despite the temperature it was one of the best outdoor events I have ever attended with a great set up and some fabulous staff. Even Boston’s finest (aside from one donut eating wanker) were amazing

I did love Black Parade and I did like some of Killjoys but ‘Greatest’ hits is a pretty grand statement from a band with one great and one OK album. But the DVD is the clincher.

Twisted Sister is a band whose false sense of importance never failed to amaze me. Even in their ‘hayday’ they were nothing but a joke. Any right minded music fan found no redemption in Dee Snider he was a farce and well talent wise, he made a spectacle but that’s about it.

Rufus should have resurrected his Opera and put the best of it on Vibrate so those of us who aren’t tempted to jump into the deep end can get a taste for it anyway.
But as these people start realizing how much space these albums take up and how the ‘amazing sound’ they pretend to hear (lets face it- the average Jim aint hearing a damn difference between stream and vinyl) is not portable- it’s done.
The Take Action tour is an annual spring event that combines doing good with hearing good. The line up is always an interesting mix of harder rock and pop punk. Confusing at times but in our four years of covering it- it has never disappointed.
