This video shot while the guys were in Australia gives a great glimpse into the workings of this band. Fun and work with friends. They have a cohesive vibe that cant be faked- they love what they do, and they do it well because of that.

A soft and emo filled Derek Sanders (who needs shampoo STILL) goes on a heartfelt journey into loss. Well played with minimal acting need and the band shots are beautifully done. Are these the same Dortito eating kids we met up with two years ago?

Lyrically, this song is so killer that my pathetic white middle class self is gonna be throwing down these lyrics like a wanna be gangsta. I could well get shot for it but they’re so contagious and so well paced that I cant help myself.

The excitement is building as Warped veterans and newcomers gear up for what may be the biggest tour yet. I am captivated that so many bands are returning, to see Four Year Strong and Mayday Parade is almost tradition. Taking Back Sunday is going to be facing a new sort of crowd.

The Academy Is… is now The Academy Was. It was inevitable this band would fail based on timing alone. These kids came out of the whole MTVu scene and were run over by the likes of Fall Out Boy (who!?) and the lot.

Mute the sound on this and it is every 35+ musicians ‘artsy’ video. I would say I’m disappointed in this wanna be Twilight Zone, Outer Limits 50s duck and cover influenced three minutes but its too comedic to say even that. What has happened to Garbage and who hid their cool?

This band capture feelings in a net. Easily relatable and in proper form La Dispute oozes emotion in a darker sense. Dark but not depressing. The introverted art form of expressing thoughts with power and conviction and just a tiny bit of fear.

Ultravox was an innovative moody and wonderfully decade appropriate band in the early 80’s, they have a new album due out that will try to replicate that vibe. Lets see how it flies in 2012. I’m hopeful!

Minaj must be taken in moderation, If you listen to her too often you will go insane and if you are a white middle class adult you will simply snap and kill someone and we cant have that.
