It must be tough to sell a mellow tune to teenagers. They're so fast and so 'on to the next one', but Mayday Parade are one of the few bands who actually have the ability to give us a whiny tune and actually tug a heart string.
The harmony in this acoustic song is so well done. They're still men, they don't sound like pathetic boys. Hey, what do you know we have talent here. This is music that parents wont mind played in the car on the way to the lake this summer. Mayday Parade is a fantastic band and I swear I have no idea why I see such crap on shows like Saturday Night Live but never have I seen them. This band crosses boundaries and genres, is consistent and strong.
Marketing issues? I have seen them live numerous times and at one point they opened or headlined like five shows in a row- I see them more than I see my brother. The best part is I don't mind. I have enjoyed their act each time, and each time there has been a slightly different vibe. Time for these kids to catch a break. They deserve it and we as a music enthused population deserve to have them placed in the forefront. C'mon there has to be a way. We cant be completely satisfied with One Direction topping our charts.
What the hell does it take to make it these days? Must Glee cover your song? If so- use this one and hurry the hell up. Its time for Mayday Parade to be a household name.
