One Direction is the latest UK offering and the commotion they create is rather impressive. The next Beatles? Of course not! They are simply a nice safe boy band for girls to swoon over and mothers to fight in lines to get to. At the beginning of the year, nobody had heard of them-an invention of Simon Cowells fervent imagination, but, after a US Tour supporting One Rush, wouldn't you rather have this years model? And now their just reward a spot on Saturday Night Live.
So get a load of that line in front of 30 Rock. 30 Rockefeller Center is the site of SNL studios. Fans have lined up since Thursday evening in hopes of scoring a 'stand by' ticket to the shows. Standby since there are not tickets available. Those were distributed months ago as a first come first serve situation.
Now for those of you not in the know there are 2 performances. The SNL dress rehearsal begins at 8:00pm with an arrival time at the studio of 6:30pm. The SNL live show begins at 11:30pm with an arrival time at the studio at 10:00pm the earlier show is recorded in case the live show isn't able to go on (wonder what would cause that).
So there are actually season ticket holders and then those who have requested seats and then there are those silly folks on lawn chairs making traffic outside the building. Here is another fact that will be a little bit of a slap:
"Age Requirements:
You must be at least 16 years old to receive SNL tickets and to attend either of the SNL Shows. Identification will be required to match the ticket"
Uh oh. Well Justin Bieber was able to cause a stir but theres gonna be a heap of sobbin on the streets of NYC!
