5 Must See Camp Bisco 2012 Artists

Camp Bisco is coming up faster than you think.  Mariaville New York will host the 11th annual party at Indian Lookout Country Club July 12-14.  This years line up makes it tough to single out 'the best'.  So here are five acts that will have you on your feet fist pumpin' before you can say, 'wheres the tent'

Bassnectar

If I’m listening to an artist’s music and my head is already nodding to the beat, I know I will enjoy the fuck out of them in concert. Bassnectar will definitely deliver and he will probably have one of the biggest crowds at Camp Bisco this year. Not only does he have incredible songs on his own, but his remixes of songs, like Lights by Ellie Goulding, are phenomenal. “Lights” for example is already a great song, but if you want to go really crazy and dance your ass off to it, you need Bassnectar’s remix of hit. He molds bass drops and dirty percussion rhythms like a potter molds their clay.

Zedd

Zedd is one of those rapidly rising stars who many people don’t yet know about. What I look for in a good electro-dance song is a highly energetic feel and an intense sound. Zedd has that as well as the addition of his own specific details added in, making his songs incredible and displaying his particular style. The inclusion of weird little repeated lyrics is often a technique used by electronic and dubstep artists but Zedd does this perfectly; not too repetitive and not at all boring. He promises to be an extremely chaotic performance and if I were you, I wouldn’t miss it for the world.

Holy Fuck

Holy Fuck isn’t just an electro-dance artist and that makes them one of the most exciting Camp Bisco 2012 artists. At many points in their songs, Holy Fuck just sounds like they’re making noise. Then, the individual components become clear and the songs take you on a musically induced trip that is surreal to say the least. I mean, I’m not promoting tripping balls while seeing Holy Fuck perform– since Camp Bisco strictly prohibits drug use – but I bet it would make that experience a lot more intense. As it stands, Holy Fuck is gonna have you saying “Holy Fuck!”

Lotus

This is a band that will kill with you amazing guitar and bass lines and then fucking bury you with intense electronic sound. Whether with lyrics or without, Lotus’ songs are so well composed that I fully expect them to be one of the best of the best at Camp Bisco. The electro percussion beat is ever present but that punk rock guitar mixed with wavering synthesizers seriously captures my attention and it should capture the attention of every single person who sees them perform.

Porter Robinson

If you are going to CB2012 for a raving dubstep party, stay with Porter Robinson. I am of the opinion that popular dubstep artist Skrillex is waaaay overrated in his genre and if you want a realer (hotter) version of Shrill-lex, check out Porter. Porter Robinson is the real deal and he makes music that will have your every muscle vibrating as you dance and go ham on the floor. Simple, noisy, nasty drops are woven with intricate little rhythms and every single song has a crazy beat that you can’t help but love. Porter has only just recently come into popularity but, with the recent rise in popularity of dubstep artists like DeadMau5 and Skrillex, Porter will soon be at the top of everyone’s charts. Make sure you’re there at Bisco2012 to see Porter melt your face off
