California pop band One Direction is suing the uber popular British One Direction.
In a pathetic attempt to score some coin The San Jose band has been around since 2009, and does a lot of ‘Battle of The Band” type stuff and has a few tunes on iTunes. That’s about it. They registered their name in February of 2011, but that’s after the UK One Direction won the seventh season of the British X Factor.
C’mon now they should be happy. Without the Brit boys they would never have gotten as much press, and their ITunes wouldn’t be a buzz with buyers. If youre still doing Battle of the Bands three years later you take what you can to get your name in the papers.
Which is most likey what this lawsuit is for. A great free news blitz for a bar band. Have I heard them? No. Im sure a lot of teenaged girls have though and I bet they have even earned some new fans from it.
There are numerous bands with the same name. The best band wins.
