The Academy Is… is now The Academy Was. It was inevitable this band would fail based on timing alone. These kids came out of the whole MTVu scene and were run over by the likes of Fall Out Boy (who!?) and the lot. They were great while they lasted but it was the charismatic frontman William Beckett that would carry on.
No surprises here. With coverboy looks and a dang good voice Beckett tricked the kids with his little Youtube cover songs and winky eyes. But since TIA is no longer I don't suppose William would just kick back and call it quits.
Tour time! Some of the tiniest venues ever. Literally. Another artist going from mega stage opener to living room sized hall. Is it humbling or simply a 'do over'?
The tour supports his solo debut LP Walk The Talk due out on April 17th.
