Lamb of God US Tour Dates

Ther are lots of bills to pay. Legal defense domestically is astronomical, international representation is outrageous. So its time to put up your devil horns and support the band if only to show them that rockers stand together and to toss them some coin.

Amanda Palmers, "A Poem For Dzhokhar"

Her Dresden Doll tales of revenge and power, sex and taunt were brilliant and aside from her ode to her bush her new stuff has been very good. She is every college kid with a trust fund and shes not a kid and she doesn’t have a trust. She’s a facade, she’s a mess, she is Boston.

Fall Out Boy Giving Concert Proceeds To Boston Bombing Victims

Fall Out Boy is playing Bostons House of Blues on May 25th. This ‘will call’ only show sold out in seconds and scalpers didn’t have a chance. Show ID or get the hell out of here. A nice idea for the FOB boys a logistical nightmare for others. They will also be playing the Tsongas Center in Lowell on September 6th. Your basic stadium show, they have chosen this larger venue as their fundraiser.

The Vinyl Revival, Here’s The Stats

Other formats sound like an annoying frequency if listened to repeatedly, whereas vinyl has a much fuller organic sound. Also I think the sleeve and artwork on some records are just amazing and nice to have as a collection

Bill Wyman Miffed At The Stones?

How dishy old men can be. Seems bassist Bill Wyman is a bit displeased with his recent participation in the Stones anniversary shenanigans. He joined the band in London but only stood in for two songs.

The Wonder Years "Dismantling Summer" Reviewed

It really feels like their older stuff, and I love it. The build up to “I’m fillin’ your prescriptions, the orange bottles stare me down,” is flawless and so wonderfully composed, the vocals becoming full and transitioning right into the chorus, full of potential for the classic pop-punk show gang vocals and moshing

Humanitarian Yusuf Islam and Mali The Elephant

Mali is currently held in solitary confinement in a Manila Zoo. She is constantly in pain due to foot ailments and since elephants are social animals- the solitary confinement is extreme torture. In pain and alone the public is requesting that she be transferred to an animal sanctuary.

Final 24, Sid Vicious

Back when I was a teenager I adored him, his photo on my wall his named carved into my hand with a safety pin (not deep enough for forever THANK THE LORD!), but yeah, I loved all he stood for. Now I realize that without a stage and a guitar strap he was just a pathetic fucked up kid

Kid Rock Is A Bargain

Kid Rock, that greasy redneck is well aware that people are hurting. As much as I cannot stand his music I do really like his stance on alot of matters. Despite his repulsive exterior, he has made some rational moves, unlike most of his peers.

Cyndi Lauper: 30 Years of Unusual

Thirty years deserves celebration so she is touring to do so. Cool huh? Although a mature Lauper doesn’t have the skirt swinging devil may care stage presence her voice has remained strong and accurate. She can still yelp like al boss.

Taxing The Dance: Clubbers Pay to Play

Up for potential repeal is an odd tax in Washington State. The Dance Tax imposes a tax on taverns and clubs that include cover charges and offer guests “an opportunity to dance.” It also states that tax must be collected by businesses that charge admission and play music. Considering all the fee’s imposed on tickets of any sort this is no big surprise

Television Lite: April 8 – April 12 2013

I love Jimmy Fallon so I have to say that the Tonight Show heading to NYC is pretty rad. I think Leno was just too old and out of touch for the world. I mean really enough with the car shit. Fallon is friends with Justin Timberlake, need we say more? No. So congrats JF! Its gonna be a long wait til you take over.

Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of The White Stripes

This is a sure fire way to torture yourself and your child. I know we all miss the Stripes and well Jack is fine on his own but put him on a tin keyboard and the songs just lose their swagger. They become obnoxious and sad. Its grating enough to slow down bad ass rocking tunes but plink them and someone needs a whoopin’.

Lawsuit From The Mosh Pit "They're Not Fighting, They're Dancing"

have been to some of the most violent shows and venues and not once have I found someone in the pit who was trying to get out that wasn’t assisted by fellow concert goers. It’s not a torture chamber and unless this cat was being a complete knob I don’t see (nor have I ever seen) a crowd turn on a fellow concert goer

Morrissey's Hollywood High Show On DVD

Distributed by Eagle Vision Entertainment the info is not even official. Instead it was discovered by Morrissey stalkers and put up on his ‘True To You” site. For the record truetoyou.com isn’t even an ‘official’ Morrissey site but for some reason he periodically will post there. So they do have legitimacy!!

The Rise and Call of Muhammad, Featuring Yusuf Islam

Islam has spoken on the White House lawn, on talk shows such as Stephen Colbert and is well informed and well spoken on the politics of life, equality, peace and his religion. A wonderful soft spoken yet powerful man his speeches are inspiring and though provoking, and you don’t have to like “Peace Train” to appreciate it

Eric Burdon's Memoirs "Breatheless"

A life that many will envy and most would avoid! I’m extremely fortunate, at age 71, to look back on my life and write down some of the incredible things that have happened to me. In the day-to-day life of a traveling musician, it’s easy to miss so many details. The world goes by at high-speed; it will take your breath away

"Uncle Alice Presents", Kickstarter Campaign

Cmon this guy has been around forever and has made more loot from bad eyeliner than anyone ever will. Granted this is not a musical endeavour but can he really not find an investor for his latest effort? OH, wait, guess what the project is…. A comic book series.

Hel Does SNL; Adam Ant

The coolest thing about Adam Ant was that it was the first musician that my mom and I agreed on. That poor woman saw more shaved and booted rockers come through her home and woke to many a floor full of unconscious punks.

KISS Kids Comics Coming This Autumn

Yeah. I don’t suppose that there will be any action for kids on this but I can say that their fathers (and maybe even grandfathers) may really enjoy this sense of nostalgia. Gene Simmons has made no secret of his desire to make money at all effort but this I cant see too much profitability,

Auction Time! Sgt Pepper's Lonley Hearts Club Band

As I have mentioned here before there have been some insane auctions! Remember John Lennons TOOTH? Allot of rockers opt to auction for charity and I ‘get’ that. Its nice to use celebrity for a reason but to think 6 figures for an album that’s inked is amazing

Academy of Country Music Awards To Honor Dick Clark

They called him the perpetual teenager and I, for one, can totally relate. After strokes and age he became a shell of his former self and for some reason America allowed him to be propped up like a taxidermy moose next to Ryan Seacrest each New Years Eve so he could slobber out some indecipherable nonsense

The Eagles Are Back- Get Your Wallet

I have seen The Eagles live ( I assure you it was under duress ) and I have seen Don Henley way too up close and personal and I will say even in the glorious 80s– it was a horror. Lets add thirty years to it and its sure to be a backing tape atrocity.

Look how adorably young he is here, all spiting Brit. He had yet to be Top 40 but he was on his way. Isn’t it sad how SNL has tanked when it started out as cutting edge as this?
