Auction Time! Sgt Pepper's Lonley Hearts Club Band

I swear auctions are where its at.  Get someone with celebrity to spit, touch hold, rub, write or sit on something and BAM you can fund your retirement.  Idol worship is one thing but owning a bit of your idol is all the more.  Autographs hold no appeal to me- ok you signed it and unless its a blank check its not going to increase my pulse.

Much more valuable would be a photograph with you and said idol for isn't the point of all of this to say you met them?

The infamous Sgt Pepper album signed by all four Beatles is currently on the eh auction block and its going to pull in quite a pretty penny

Dallas-based Heritage Auctions said Friday that bidding for the 1967 album has reached $110,500 and could surpass $150,000 by the March 30 auction. Heritage originally estimated the album would go for around $30,000.  This not only shows the power of fanaticism but also that drive to 'win'.  Someone will win this frame it, show their friends and then?  Most likely auction it off again when their investments go bad and they're strapped for cash.

As I have mentioned here before there have been some insane auctions!  Remember John Lennons TOOTH?  Allot of rockers opt to auction for charity and I 'get' that.  Its nice to use celebrity for a reason but to think 6 figures for an album that's inked is amazing.  The Beatles are highly collectable and their legend is undeniable but still if you have that sort of loot, isn't there better ways to throw it about?
