The last time I noticed Dionne Warwick is when she was on the Celebrity Apprentice. She came across as a royal bitch and bully. This was in great contrast to her sweet demeanor and her absolutely ‘Psychic Friends Network’ ads. I’m not sure when diva’s get bitter but Dionne was horribly portrayed. For the good of those who interact with her, let’s hope she’s not such a cow.
One thing for certain is she’s not really on top of her business. The woman who ‘knew the way to San Jose’, is on her way to bankruptcy court. It is never nice to read about financial misfortunes but I do have a problem with blatant system abuse.
It is reported that $2.2 million is owed to the government. Her attorney, Daniel Stolz, told Rolling Stone 'Ms. Warwick had a business manager who mismanaged her affairs. . She's actually paid more than the face amount of the taxes, but with all of the crazy interest and penalties that they add, the number kept mushrooming ' even though she paid off the amount that she owed in terms of the actual taxes.'
Who’s fault is that? The business manager or the person who never bothered to follow up on their own affairs? While we’re at it- why should these fees be forgiven? They shouldn’t. Penalties are in place for a reason and with the filing of bankruptcy Warwick’s assets are protected.
Tax issues are usually not dismissed- but The attorney added that the taxes are so old now that the law allows them to be discharged through bankruptcy. She filed in New Jersey where most of her assets will be protected including her S.A.G. pension. Its system abuse like this that sours my opinion of the US court system, there will always be a sleazy attorney who will manipulate the system and god forbid her pension be touched. Sad isn’t it? Oh, not that shes forced to bankruptcy, that’s pathetic, but it’s sad that you can fuck the system that hard.
