First of all, it isn’t super cheesy with any jingle bells or ridiculously cliche lyrics, which is nice. Patrick’s voice is the perfect mix of soft and sweet and sincere, as always.

The instruments don’t offer much at all. They sound like they put truly no effort into writing an at least somewhat original or interesting song. They’ve been done before a thousand times, even by The Maine themselves. There isn’t a good second of musicianship.

The song really really reminds me of the artist “Nickasaur!”. The similarities are absolutely parallel. Even down to the tone of his voice, it could easily be mistaken. I’m a bit thrown off.

Fearless Records now infamous “Punk Goes…” series is generally a great compilation of up and coming bands covering todays pop hits. Consider it something like Kids Bop with a beard. What worries us this time is the initial leak by the band Woe is Me. Katy Perry is a fun perfomer to cover but the band does absolutely nothing with it- other than make it worse.

The rapping’s genius, and the lyrics are punchy with a lot of hooks and clever lines. The beat makes it a good party song, and it’ll be a good one to sing along to. GCH keeps appearing and disappearing, and as other artists start covering their earlier work, Travis and the gang finally let loose something new in this latest single.

The tune is fun to hum along to; the melody is addictive and beautiful.
