Fun. “Some Nights” Video, Reviewed
This music video is the only one I’ve ever seen to focus on a civil war battlefield but this appears to have been the best possible way to portray the message of the song. I don’t doubt the decision for a second
This music video is the only one I’ve ever seen to focus on a civil war battlefield but this appears to have been the best possible way to portray the message of the song. I don’t doubt the decision for a second
the video for “Bartender” showcases the entire band and gives a visual aid to the exceptional skill that can easily be heard in the song. It’s easy for a video to showcase the lead singer’s talent and charm but often the instrumentalists get a little lost in the video.
David and his wife were forced to flee their Sussex UK mansion due to a bomb scare. The Gilmours were having some work done to the six floor humble abode when the builders stumbled across a pipe shaped device.
Frankly, I feel that this once powerful duo has sold out to today’s mainstream top 40 music. When I listened to them in 2008 as a little scene kid, their music had much more depth than this new single.
Not only is the content of the song trite and cliché, Chris’ voice is incredibly whiny and it’s really distracting. Maybe it’s the tinny quality of an iPhone’s sound, but Chris’voice sounds super thin and flat. He’s got no soul
The song itself is your typical “we broke up and I miss her” song. It kind of has the overall message of people change and I guess we changed because you dumped me but I wish we could go back to the way things were.
This isn’t a happy, upbeat, dance hall type song and I’m glad that instead of trying to change the song into something it’s not, fun and Hayley Williams stripped it down to each core element that makes this song a fantastic one.
a great chorus expects a great verse and when each verse comes up; each verse leaves me feeling bored and confused about what Amy is even talking about. In “Hello” and “I Told You So” especially, Karmin’s rapping and almost-singing sounds very Nicki Minaj-esque and it’s really disappointing.
I immediately disagreed with a few of the decisions made about featured artists; Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift were two featured artists that I was disheartened to see on Strange Clouds. However, after having listened to this album many, many times, I’ver ealized that B.o.B. got every detail of his songs right
I think what really bothers me about this moronic video is the fact that there’s seriously nothing going on. It’s just them dancing and rapping in a few hotel rooms
think fights are not only pointless, but extremely immature. Fights during a hockey or rugby game? Sure whatever you’re playing a sport that is rough by nature. Drunken bar fights? Understandable since both parties have presumably had their judgment removed by the effective application of alcohol. But school fights and ghetto street brawls are, in general, stupid.
With a cigarette almost constantly in one hand, William Control’s infectious synth and bass beats overpowered any trace of horrible scene kid music that I was hoping to avoid. This still pervaded the show even when he faced technical difficulties
This song starts very simply. Then, in the way of the erratic metronome, simple beats give way to the electrified, dancing notes and synth waves of this song before returning to that same simple beat at the end.
There is no need for anything flashy because what you want to see about The Royalty is the fact that drummer Joel Quintana, keyboardist Daniel Marin, guitarist Jesus Apodaca, and bassist Will Daugherty are all totally absorbed in their instruments and in their music. Lead singer Nicole Boudreau plays this fantastically simple
Instead of having nice smooth, slurred, descending notes on the word “tonight”, they decided to add in this terrible warbling, making it sound like “to-nye-ee-aye-ee-aye-ee-aye-ee-aye-ee-ight”. Please listen to the actual song so you know what I’m talking about; you will understand exactly
Simple, noisy, nasty drops are woven with intricate little rhythms and every single song has a crazy beat that you can’t help but love. Porter has only just recently come into popularity but, with the recent rise in popularity of dubstep artists like DeadMau5 and Skrillex, Porter will soon be at the top of everyone’s charts
The world today is so focused on the latest and greatest trend; this is just magnified in my generation by the changing times and the already limited attention span of the average teenager.
exhibits the best parts of The D.A.’s sound. The melody is displayed throughout the song by an interesting mix of bass, synth, and guitar with the usual backdrop of percussion. In the beginning of the song, the pop synth and indie bass mixture seems to set the tone of the song. That is, it did until a surprisingly raw vocal part hits you.
Usually when an artist covers a song from a genre very different from their own, the cover has the same basic instrumental sound but with the covering artist’s own style. I saw no evidence of that in this tragic cover.
I am really finding it hard to believe that actor Johnny Depp and industrial rocker Marilyn Manson will soon be collaborating on a song and yet it will definitely be happening.
Walking down an icy grave, leading to my Schizophrenic father. Weeping willow won’t you wallow louder, searching for my father’s power…he’s a black magic wielder some say a witch.”
Aoki is your typical DJ trying to make it big in the world of mainstream music, much like Skrillex or DeadMau5. The difference is, I hear no sort of unique style in his music; instead, I see his unique style in the video for his song.
she never gave away anything until February 29th at a concert in Washington D.C.when Hill performed a newly recorded song, titled “Fearless Vampire Killer”.
There’s been a lot of hype over Katy Perry’s recently released single “Part of Me”. The song is part of the deluxe reissue of Perry’s album Teenage Dream which did fairly well; in fact it’s sold an estimated 5.5 million copies worldwide.
From the first track alone, “Some Nights (Intro)”, you glimpse the amazingly warped, unique, and downright eclectic version of an alternative/indie band’s album. As lead singer Nate Ruess croons, a soft melody plays in the background…
The beginning of any song is comparable to the first time you meet someone; first impressions are everything. However, I implore you to not be taken aback by your first impression of this song. It seems to start off like any other pop rock song but as it progresses, Drake’s passion breaks through the speakers and, trust me, it’ll turn you into a fan.
Play “Electric Feel” by MGMT at the same time as “Le Disko” by Shiny Toy Guns and you’d get a song combination that sounds similar to Sleigh Bells’ new single “Comeback Kid”.
“It looked like the president was on our floor. The hospital’s security cameras were taped over. Internal windows from the hallways into the ward were blacked out.”
The thing about Glenn’s voice is that it is in no way smooth and clear sounding tothe ear. It is raw and passionate and it adds an element of explosiveness to the song that is hard to miss.
That slowed down feeling sticks with you as you watch the video and see both the meaning in the lyrics and the passion behind lead singer Nate Ruess’ belting of said lyrics.
, “…people say that rock and roll is dead, and it is my mission and my goal to resurrect it in the form of my pop music.”
it sounds like a cross between Matt & Kim, Jessie J, and Nicki Minaj; this is what Karmin describes as Swag Pop. Now, this may sound like quite the perplexing combination of sounds, and trust me: I’m not the biggest fan of Nicki or Jessie, but it is this strange sound that makes Karmin so unique
One rainy night as Adele stood outside a bar trying to light a cigarette as her boyfriend bitched at her about how she wouldn’t be able to light a lighter while it was raining. Well, she finally did it and upon lighting her cigarette, she calmly walked away
The band Foster the People, of “Pumped Up Kicks” fame (Iknow, totally overplayed right?), has released a new music video
“I decided… it’s my duty to put on a good show so I pulled up some kids on stage, they kinda went nuts dancing to the music, and I just sort of tried to engage people…”
Dancehall artist Vybz Kartel, born Adidja Palmer, was reported to have escaped from Horizon Adult Remand Centre in Jamaica with seven other inmates, in an elaborate break out that included smuggled guns, officers being taken hostage
I had quite hoped that Versa Emerge’s rendition of this classic would make a fan out of me but sadly, it failed.
The lyrics conjure images of shrugging the devils of your past off your back and this, combined with Florence Welch’s soulful crooning, makes the song memorable.
But when Kyle said that one sentence and I saw all the lights on stage go out, I knew they were about to perform their latest single “Blackout” and my heart damn near exploded.
