Fun. “Some Nights” Video, Reviewed

This music video is the only one I’ve ever seen to focus on a civil war battlefield but this appears to have been the best possible way to portray the message of the song. I don’t doubt the decision for a second

The Royalty “Bartender”Video, Reviewed

the video for “Bartender” showcases the entire band and gives a visual aid to the exceptional skill that can easily be heard in the song. It’s easy for a video to showcase the lead singer’s talent and charm but often the instrumentalists get a little lost in the video.

David Gilmour Bombed

David and his wife were forced to flee their Sussex UK mansion due to a bomb scare. The Gilmours were having some work done to the six floor humble abode when the builders stumbled across a pipe shaped device.

3OH!3 “Do or Die”, Reviewed

Frankly, I feel that this once powerful duo has sold out to today’s mainstream top 40 music. When I listened to them in 2008 as a little scene kid, their music had much more depth than this new single.

Karmin’s “Hello” Album, Reviewed

a great chorus expects a great verse and when each verse comes up; each verse leaves me feeling bored and confused about what Amy is even talking about. In “Hello” and “I Told You So” especially, Karmin’s rapping and almost-singing sounds very Nicki Minaj-esque and it’s really disappointing.

B.o.B.’s 'Strange Clouds', Reviewed

I immediately disagreed with a few of the decisions made about featured artists; Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift were two featured artists that I was disheartened to see on Strange Clouds. However, after having listened to this album many, many times, I’ver ealized that B.o.B. got every detail of his songs right

Fluorescent Adolescent: Maturity is Clearly Lacking In The Hood

think fights are not only pointless, but extremely immature. Fights during a hockey or rugby game? Sure whatever you’re playing a sport that is rough by nature. Drunken bar fights? Understandable since both parties have presumably had their judgment removed by the effective application of alcohol. But school fights and ghetto street brawls are, in general, stupid.

The Royalty “How I Like Em” Music Video, Reviewed

There is no need for anything flashy because what you want to see about The Royalty is the fact that drummer Joel Quintana, keyboardist Daniel Marin, guitarist Jesus Apodaca, and bassist Will Daugherty are all totally absorbed in their instruments and in their music. Lead singer Nicole Boudreau plays this fantastically simple

Glee’s “We Are Young” Reviewed

Instead of having nice smooth, slurred, descending notes on the word “tonight”, they decided to add in this terrible warbling, making it sound like “to-nye-ee-aye-ee-aye-ee-aye-ee-aye-ee-ight”. Please listen to the actual song so you know what I’m talking about; you will understand exactly

5 Must See Camp Bisco 2012 Artists

Simple, noisy, nasty drops are woven with intricate little rhythms and every single song has a crazy beat that you can’t help but love. Porter has only just recently come into popularity but, with the recent rise in popularity of dubstep artists like DeadMau5 and Skrillex, Porter will soon be at the top of everyone’s charts

The D.A. “We Hungry”, Reviewed

exhibits the best parts of The D.A.’s sound. The melody is displayed throughout the song by an interesting mix of bass, synth, and guitar with the usual backdrop of percussion. In the beginning of the song, the pop synth and indie bass mixture seems to set the tone of the song. That is, it did until a surprisingly raw vocal part hits you.

Dee Snider, “Cabaret” Reviewed.

Usually when an artist covers a song from a genre very different from their own, the cover has the same basic instrumental sound but with the covering artist’s own style. I saw no evidence of that in this tragic cover.

Steve Aoki “Heartbreaker” Video Review

Aoki is your typical DJ trying to make it big in the world of mainstream music, much like Skrillex or DeadMau5. The difference is, I hear no sort of unique style in his music; instead, I see his unique style in the video for his song.

Fun. "Some Nights" Album Reviewed

From the first track alone, “Some Nights (Intro)”, you glimpse the amazingly warped, unique, and downright eclectic version of an alternative/indie band’s album. As lead singer Nate Ruess croons, a soft melody plays in the background…

Drake Bell's “Speak My Mind” Reviewed

The beginning of any song is comparable to the first time you meet someone; first impressions are everything. However, I implore you to not be taken aback by your first impression of this song. It seems to start off like any other pop rock song but as it progresses, Drake’s passion breaks through the speakers and, trust me, it’ll turn you into a fan.

Karmin “Crash Your Party”, Reviewed

it sounds like a cross between Matt & Kim, Jessie J, and Nicki Minaj; this is what Karmin describes as Swag Pop. Now, this may sound like quite the perplexing combination of sounds, and trust me: I’m not the biggest fan of Nicki or Jessie, but it is this strange sound that makes Karmin so unique
