A Comeback For Ms Lauryn Hill?

After the release of the unforgettable album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill in 1998,the extremely talented r&b singer Lauryn Hill essentially dropped off the radar. At the 47th Grammy’s in 1999, Hill was nominated for 10awards and she won 5; she became the first female recording artist to receive that many nominations and that many awards at one award show.

One would think that, with this success, Hill would have stuck around and risen to shining stardom. However, she disappeared from the music scene for 4 years, then released an EP, and promptly disappeared again. Now, 14 years later, it looks like she may be coming back!

At recent performances throughout January and February of 2012, Hill hinted at a comeback, but never gave away much in the way of specifics; that is, she never gave away anything until February 29th at a concert in Washington D.C.when Hill performed a newly recorded song, titled “Fearless Vampire Killer”.

I can only hope that Lauryn Hill is on her way back to the top. I grew up sitting on the floor of my living room with headphones on listening to the music of the late 1990’s and 2000’s and songs like “Doo Wop (That Thing)” and “Can't Take My Eyes Off You” from Hill’s 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill' were the ones that stuck in my mind. Those melodies and lyrics, along with songs by Destiny’s Child and TLC, are etched forever on my brain.

I, along with her millions of patient fans, have always loved Lauryn Hill and have always been waiting forher to release new music. Now it seems that this may happen soon and I do not doubt the success of this future album of hers. Whether you’re a fan or not,you will soon, hopefully, be seeing Lauryn Hill sitting at the top of music charts all over the world.
