Forget love, this songitself is pure magic! Afrobeta alone has enough electro mojo to create a fantastic song, but when the song is remixed by an artist like Discotech, the song simply explodes. “Love is Magic”, remixed by Discotech, is a powerhouse of electro-dance spirit and a must have for party playlists everywhere.
tock nyc reviewed a live show by Afrobeta two years and they were really nice to us (claimed, if you hadn't seen them, the post expressedexactly what the experience was like) The duo that is Afrobeta consists of wonderfully lyrical vocalist Cuci Amador and masterful DJ Tony "Smurphio" Laurencio. Afrobeta is an electro-dance group all their own; they belong to the genre at the same time that they sort of make their own genre. With each song comes a playfulness that you don’t much see in other artists.
One of my favorite things about this song is that is starts and ends the same way. Imagine two metronomes which start just slightly off from each other. The soon reach a point where they’re perfectly in sync but then they are off on different beats; they are erratic before they once more get back in harmony with each other. This song starts very simply. Then, in the way of the erratic metronome, simple beats give way to the electrified, dancing notes and synth waves of this song before returning to that same simple beat at the end.
Listen to the song on repeat and you’ll get a taste of that ocean-like ebb and flow of great electronic music that Afrobeta comes out with. Each song of their latest mixtape, Wig Party, displays the duo’s propincity for fantastic music. Show Afrobeta some love on Facebook (Facebook.com/afrobetafans) and download Wig Party for free
