Danish Music Festival Roskilde Will Recycle Festival-Goers’ Urine For Beer!

‘It is totally possible to use human urine as a fertilizer instead of industrial fertilizer,’ declared researcher Heinonen-Tanski. Why not? Urine contains urea, a good source of nitrogen, plus potassium and phosphorus, all needed by plants and found in fertilizers. Plus it is always available, a typical human urinates about 500 liters per year, and about 200 of them must be produced during music festivals!

Oldies But Goldies: Screamin’ ‘Bout Elvis, 2009

I have written about Elvis Presley so much in the past six years, this 2009 piece seems equal parts obvious and quaint, why would I write something everybody knows? This was very early in and I was still announcing my tastes to my blog readers -you know who you are, and one thing remains true… if you don’t love Elvis, why are you reading rock nyc?

“Minions” Review

With neither the plot nor the intelligence of the Gru classics, it is a kid’s movie for kids, which, when it aims for the adults, misfires. Despite the occasional smart touch, a great dance with Tower guards to a Queen song had me smiling ear to ear, and despite some truly lovely animation and 60s period detaul, this is not a very good movie . The Minions were ionce cute and now they are cutesy… what a shame.

Black Is The Color Of My True Love’s Hair – Lauryn Hill – This beautiful, powerful woman has a fine and robust voice and she can do many things with it, the one thing she fails to do is show compassion or warmth and it is effecting this Nina Simone cover, in a not entirely negative way – B+

A busy day for computer malfunctions, first the NYSE closes for hours, then American Airline closes for hours and then the Wall Street Journal goes down. Of course, this is all a coincidence and why not? till, it is one of those you can imagine the Terminator coming to us back from the future to fix… maybe this is how the world ends, right? Not with a bang but with a computer glitch.

This is looks like the summer in a nutshell, there were a couple of other songs I thought might show up, no Jess Glynne and I coulda sworn I’d see her here, but otherwise this is as read more or less. It seems like OMI and The Weeknd will be the real battle and the only two songs I can imagine intruding on this is Demi Lovato and maybe, though it is off the chargts again, Maroon 5.

Murder In The City – Brandi Carlisle – I prefer her album to Kacey Musgraves, and this deep song about a brothers love for his sister is very moving and very lovely, “don’t go revenging in my name”, Brandi’s brother tells, the bands unbreakable. As has historically been the case, Billboard’s charts are post-dated to the second Saturday following online posting (now 11 days later). The Wonder Years “Cardinal” Review

“Cardinals” is an important song for the band to release as a lead single as it holds a familiar theme all while introducing this new sound they’re trying out. If the rest of “No Closer To Heaven” follows suit with “Cardinals” I feel as though this could quite possibly be The Wonder Years best effort out of any and become what will be their Opus.

Ringo Starr’s 75th Birthday Celebration At Capitol Records, Tuesday July 7th 2015 Review

I arrived almost two hours before the time — and that’s dedication — but the front of the building was already full of people, mostly ‘old’ people, but it is insane to qualify Beatles’ fans of old, these people have kept the fire in their belly, they are still excited to see one of the two Beatles left on earth, and they still believe that peace and love can change the world… it is so refreshing. Call them naïve, call them childish, I don’t care because I am one of them!

‘I thought that was very distasteful,’ she declared. ‘That’s why it’s important to me to not be a couch potato. I have to keep on doing something because the other side will take over – people who are really not understanding what beautiful things we have in this world and want to destroy it. And I’m not going to let them destroy John or the Beatles.’

Julie Burchill, Adrian Thrills, Danny Baker (who singlehandedly turned me back on to r&b), Lester Bangs (the only Atlantic cross over star), Nick Kent, Charles Shaar Murray, all under the leadership of Nick Logan and his second in command Neil Spencer. I actually interview Nick when the face came out, which he owned, and for me, there was no difference between Nick (and Julie, who I also interviewed) than John Entwistle. Hell, even the letters pages were excellent.

“Terminator Genisys” Review

By the end of the damn thing you’ll realize none of it made the slightest bit of difference even within the Terminator universe. So, beware of # 6 which has at least this going for it, it can’t be much more of a waste of time for a movie that opens with its best moment: young and old Arnold battling each other.

Not With The Band: Do We Need A Dislike Button On Facebook?

This is going to lead to a big problem, people will not be able to express opinions anymore, they will not take the risk to be ostracized by others. And so what? are we going to end in a like-everything world? I have to admit it, I am sometimes tired to push that ‘like’ button, but, if I don’t do it, will people get mad at me? Yes, some will! And this is very annoying.

Incidentally, if any of these guys happened to kill someone, suddenly they would be adults in the eyes of the court. This is fear of female sexuality

I just checked on Itunes Store… they aren’t there either. Does Prince want to protect his copyright so much he doesn’t want to sell the albums at all? It is so very strange, These can’t be albums he isn’t proud of, Crystal Ball alone is better than anything he released this decade. The man is a nutcase, he should put all his music anyway but at least he should sell them.

Using her dentistry practice, she makes a mold of someone’s mouth and then sculpts the piece using chromium chromate, then 18K gold, yellow or white.
