1 – Pure Imagination – Fiona Apple – Fiona takes on Willy Wonka and finds the gothic downbeat horror in the spectacular dreams of children, she sings it perfectly but the high drama music is a major downer. I am sure why you would do it – C
2 – Pure Imagination – Maroon 5 – Part of a pro-Obama compilation album from 2009, not bad – B-
3 – I Don’t Care If The Sun Don’t Shine – Dean Martin – Easy going swing from his 1953 movie “Scared Stiff”
4 – Come Back To Sorrento – Dean Martin – Listen to it in Italian if you can, so lovely and poetic – A
5 – Constant Headache – Joyce Manor – Last year’s model, but emo rocking for the young and stupid, but not too stupid – B-
6 – Can’t You Hear Me Knocking – On the new Spotify Landmark version of Sticky Fingers, Jagger mentions that this was recorded in two parts, the first just the song, and the second extended jam with Mick Taylor playing like Santana added at the end – A
7 – People Want To Hear About Love – Neil Young And Promise Of The Real – This works on three levels, a political diatribe, a folk-pop song of the first order, and a wake up call – A
8 – Pullin’ Up – Meek Mill featuring The Weeknd – Neo soul with the hottest guy in the genre who isn’t actually a producer – B-
9 – Raze – Faye-ANn Lyon – Still getting into Soca? this is a tremendous beat heavy EDM take on the sound – A-
10 – Rumors (feat Tove Lo) – Adam Lambert – There is nothing intrinsically worse than all the other manufactured beats and ballad -nothing better either – C
