Falling In Reverse's "Alone" Reviewed
I can’t even find enough words in the English language to describe how horrendous the song is without using very offensive profanity

Matt Gangi and Eric Chramosta were building layers and layers of vocal samplings, loops and distortion with their electronic machinery, without forgetting the melodies and the untouched human voice
” Songwriting’s never been a natural art for me; it’s always been a bit of a struggle. I just thought it had got up and left me.” Which makes it especially a pleasure to hear Stewart sing a remembrance of himself past like “this scruffy beat up working class teenage troubadour
This isn’t just star power, it is a circus of fun and providing the opening salvos will be wordspot and the Illest, young but old school rappers of the first order; Lauriana Mae, Jazz and R&B vocalist and roots rocker Alexandra & The Starlight Band.
Lead singer of Christian metal band arrested for attempting to hire some one to kill his estrange wife
The fact remains their first album was the best and while their third album, released on Tuesday, Modern Vampires Of The City is probably the equal of Contra, Contra hasn’t aged as well as it might have, has it?
The first responsibility of Government is to protect its citizens and without a strong militia you will soon find how easy it is to lose your country
Yes, I bought a three day ticket and yes I plan to use a lot of it except on Saturday when I am blowing off Guns N Roses to hightail to Barclay Center, figure 6pm, to catch McCarney
Chugalong to the Dixie Chicks mainstay Natalie Maines and you may be surprised by this piece of Eddie Vedder cover, a superb vocal performance. The Rod Stewart is the finest moment on his finest album in decades, “22” is finally available on Spotify (but who was waiting, right?) , I got past my problem with Andre 3000s vocal and the Lonely Island is there usually incongruity put to good use.
He had obviously listened to the classics, ‘I Know Why’ had a sort of 80s Elton John meets Phil Collins vibe going on, ‘The Victim’ was a total let’s-be-serious-with-our-dance-floor-number with a Prince falsetto and a real nice dance-y groove
Some of the best music came out of the punk scene through the new wave and new romantic phases, hell even goth and hardcore were all born of this decade.
“Soundscape” (I love that one: “Substitute for ‘song’ used to describe boring shoegaze, post rock and elecronica records whose alternatively ‘majestic’, ‘eerie’ or ‘glacial’ instrumentals are supposed to evoke grand vistas of some sort. Dimly, the writer perceives that this is all Brian Eno’s fault”)
Mary reads my tongue twisting, multi-syllabic, run on sentence, Taylor rave review of her concert at Prudential Center earlier this year. For a breathtaking seven minutes of froth with barely a mistake. Well, except the ending where Mary appears to sneer as she reads the grade (An A!!!)
The song is a self portrait but not just of Davies -a rock and roll star never entirely comfortable with the shenanigans, of any man has had enough pressure, who just wants to lay back and enjoy the day
Looking like a cross between a biblical prophet and Star Wars’ Obi-Wan Kenobi stuck in an underground brothel, Bowie sings in the middle of an odd crowd made of self-flagellating monks coming straight from the DaVinci code
I guess it is the horns that are hooking them on M&L’s # 1, but I am not sure why if that’s the case I can’t hear em? Both songs are huge shrugs to these ears and while I am not unhappy for them, what else do i have to say? Not a damn thing, it is average hip hop which for some obscure reason won the Lotto. Couldn’t be happier to see “Cruise” in the top ten
Kenny Chesney might well own the worst album of the year not. Not country album, no, no, no, worst album period, on your bike, that’s it. But country is well represented by Blake Shelton and Randy Rogers, the latter is living up to years of promise with an album on the verge of a major crossover
Never a big fan of Kid, but “Kid” is a pretty good stiff upper lip lad piece of advise, 7 of the rest of these songs are also new releases, two are off “The Great Gatsby” as well, and “#Beautiful” is growing on me but I’m sure I’ll be sick of it soon enough.
They continued to build the same darkness and paint the same foreign and mysterious soundscape
“This is what you get when you mess with us”, has been on our website masthead just about every time I’m in the drivers seat, simply because its such a fabulously simplistic (yet true) statement.
The album itself gets a little much, everything is warmed over twice and as a defined unit it accumalates into one long headache, but if you break it down by track -well, the quality of individual songs is consistently high, I’m impressed.
start with Kronos Quartet at 40 free week long celebrationand then move on to weeks two and three where some names you will definitely know, Ruben Blades, Amanda Palmer and Nick Lowe to name but three.
The song, precisely called ‘I appear missing’, has the QOTSA’s dark and grandiose sound, going crescendo with huge guitars, thundering drumming (Dave Grohl?), and Josh Homme’s romantic croon
The never ending love circle is as strong as ever and although Morrison is now nothing more than fairy dust his fans are younger, and more tech savvy than the mutton chopped bell bottom originals. So it seems fitting that the marketing machine keep up with the times.
Popdoses Ken Shane wrote “Now that George is gone, Vince has the most beautiful voice in country music” and if you don’t think that’s high praise may I remind you George Strait is still alive
“Really ?? Over two hours late and not so much as an apology, the concessions closed before the act even came on ! How is this tolerated ? People spend a lot of money to see an act and have to work the next day, it is the acts responsibility to be on time.”
“No. I think ‘OK…yeah.’ I think it doesn’t matter whether I’m young or old or anything. The way you talk about it, it’s as if our fans are 40-year-old men in flasher raincoats. That’s what you mean by an older audience. We’re talking about 18-year-olds, like that.”
Apparently, Rod is sick of the Great American Songbook and has returned to writing his own songs and while there will never ne another album as great as even Atlantic Crossing, the new one is good enough. Jay and The Americans are at BB Kings this September and I went to see Rihanna yesterday. The rest are all new.
It’s a long show for a 71 year old man to lift single handedly, especially with a malfunctioning TV screen. Tork maintains his concentration and his stamina for the full 90 minutes and the show has a sense of pacing and direction
Like the best of any art, listening to Moondance gives you the experience of opening a new world to you. On this album, Van Morrison wasn’t dwelling on the threshold of his beautiful vision. He was completely enveloped in it.
They hate just about everything in the name of the Lord and well I hate just about everything in the name of myself so well- I cant throw stones. These kids threw down a seriously tweet I’m pretty sure about 80%of their 12,982 followers pay attention for WTF of it only and don’t take any of this too seriously
I am always struggling about this idea, and my left and right hemispheres are always competing with each other – although this simplistic vision as known as, ‘right brain versus left brain’, is now perceived as a myth by neurobiologists
Mary Magpie, who has a career as an actor in her future if you ask me, channels Alysons words of a appreciation and age deferential and takes you right into the sweaty moshpit at Echoplex.
We hoped and prayed it would be on whole other levels of gratuitous self-indulgence and divaish slo-mo diselegance and while it has its moments, all in all I am a little disappointed
It is their biggest tour for six years, Los Angeles was the opening night, Mick Taylor and guests were even scheduled to perform, however hundreds of seats were still available the day of the show, and the NY daily news reports that StubHub had more than 500 tickets available 24 hours before the show
Obviously Vampire Weekend is the one to beat here, but the runner ups are pretty impressive. I’ve liked everything I’ve streamed off the new Rod Stewart, Talib Kweli and Fitz And The Tantrums are long time rock nyc faves, Van Dykes Park is his first album of new material since the excellent Orange Crate Art with Brian Wilson. If you haven’t heard it, the album sounds better now than it did in 1995.
8 of these songs are here directly because of live concerts, three reference the Peter Tork set, three are a preview for tonight’s Rihanna show, one for the past date Mac show and one for the I am not gonna see Van Dyke Parks show at MHOW on Sunday May 16th, 2013.
The great creative outburst in Vienna began with the Jewish population being made full citizens with the right to vote and ended with Nazi Germany encamping and destroying them.
With her acoustic guitar, she plays a mean rock’ n’ roll or soft and sad devastating ballads, but her real instrument is her voice, deep and elastic, it seems she can go low and high with the same confidence
I found a version of “Migraine” captured in The Live Room and to be entirely honest, I like almost cried the first time I heard it. This band is absolutely perfect.
Haven’t the people of Beantown been tortured enough? I mean, look that was a mess. Three dead, lots of injuries but life goes on and that’s the price of living in a democracy.
Weezy sure ain’t putting up any of his talent and while the promise of the biggest star in Hip Hop might have you guessing, I think even Jay-Z won’t be enough, maybe Jay-Z and Kweezy but there ain’t no Drake and there ain’t no Rick Ross in Hut 97’s future now is there?
He is clearly gay! And he is an important part of the hip hop community, so isn’t it about time that gay rappers come out? This week NBA center Jason Collins was the first male US athlete to come out as gay, shouldn’t rappers do the same
Fantasia and Melvins are on the second songs off their later albums, Paramore is on the third, Fleetwood Mac on the second off their otherwise disappointing EP, Johnny Marr a surprise return following the live show and as for The Passenger… who?
If Passenger are this year’s Gotye (and I certainly hope so) than without a reasonable doubt,at least it doesn’t sound like Sting. electronic twins Disclosure put the great Eliza Doolittle to pretty good use one way or the other on a boring song. Otherwise, electronic pop songs rule of 2013 continues
I’ve only given Passenger a perfunctory listen, so it might be better, it might be worse, Blue -a typical European Boy band, is nothing much and Bo Brice is very good. Passenger -I wonder… let’s wait and see.
I hate time because time means Conor Oberst doesn’t have the wild innocence of his youth, as he does on “Train Under Water” where you can see the innocence comes unstuck like a young Van Morrison singing “And if I don’t call that just means I’d rather not”. Both of these guys are confused by how cruelty and honesty interlock
We’re finally in the home stretch. Seriously, we did pretty good this year covering Saturday Night Lives musical nonsense. Not much to pant over. Only a few horrible acts and well, I suppose when all is said and done no damage was made.
It was like there was a hole in the center. It was like the apostles without Jesus. As my nephew Damon Morton noted, “Johnny Marr is great at being Johnny Marr, less so at being Morrissey”.
The 2013 edition of Parliament Funkadelic doesn’t have the elaborate stage production of the Mothership era, but is still a glorious celebration of excess.
