Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong wanted to start a war, but his attack on South Korean popstar Psy was like pissing in the wind.
On Wednesday, Armstrong used his Instagram account to post a picture of the ‘Gangam Style’ singer with this comment:
‘This dude is the herpes of music. Once you think it’s gone, it comes back. #herpes #flareup #pleasegoaway’.
Now, even though I couldn’t care less about Psy’s music, I thought it was totally random and some let’s-jump-down-one’s-throat weird reaction from the Green Day singer. With the amount of possibilities we have now, we can easily totally avoid hearing about mainstream music, when did he start listening to bad radio stations?
Fuse took the opportunity to ask Psy how he felt about the insult, and Psy played dumb, saying ‘he didn’t know what herpes was.’
And after a few explanations about STDs, he added:
‘I kinda like it, it’s cool. So he’s saying I’m like herpes? I should say something to him. What was his name? Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day, he’s saying I’m like herpes, it keeps coming back. I think it’s really cool and I appreciate that. Thank you.’
Ha! He may sing stupid music, he may play dumb, but he is a smart guy! Of course, no needs to tell you who looks like an American idiot in the story.
