They were a great surprise with a formidable energy and a lot of soul. I am not using the term soul lightly, despite the cowboy hat on the head of one of the guitarists, they undoubtedly had an old-school rhythm & blues sound, and one of their songs even had a true Sam & Dave vibe. The sax, the horns and the wobbling Hammond were part of their audacious and lively R&B, with an explosive sound and a powerhouse that may have channeled some Springsteen or Joe Cocker gig.
He was holding his guitar very high and tight, pointing it like a gun toward the amp, he has recently collaborated with Ty Segall and his sound couldn’t have been more punk-psychedelic with a heavy layer coming straight from the 70’s.
Which makes me think, I have probably use the terms psychedelic/psychedelia way too many times in this review, but try to see 24 bands in 10 hours!
But most of my day was occupied with all these 60’s revival surf-rock-worshiper bands, and they keep multiplying with more nuances than I can describe. Most of them played with a punk spirit and a personal twist each time, but as I said, they duplicate themselves at infinity.

It’s all fuzzy in my head now, just like the guitars of Gateway Drugs, my memories in my brain are very loud just like The Birth Defects’ heavy riffs, and I have a hang over, but honestly I probably feel much better than this Sloppy Jane front girl! Man, did this crazy woman put up a trashy riot if I’ve ever seen one!

They played a very emotional music, the heart-on-your-sleeve and gut-exploding type, with slow, quiet-as-a-ballad beginnings which were then exploding all over the place. Beckett had actually a smoky-weary falsetto, a sort of David Gray croon, bringing intense emotions in each one of their ascending songs.

After noting the strange grading on ‘Soaked in Bleach’ IMDb page (probably demonstrating a manipulation of the data), after knowing about Courtney Love’s direct threats to the theaters screening SIB, I would not be surprised if people were also messing up with these petitions. However, since the previous ones have never lead anywhere, I wonder what they are afraid about?

An all-girl band opening for an all girl-band, just imagine the competition! But Pins doesn’t even want to look or sound like the cool trio from Olympia, they want to have fun, delivering harmonies over pop melodies, speeding up at time without going overboard, bringing head banging with a real noise punk inspiration, while letting the power chords have the best part.
But it is ‘Vitamins’, another song from the upcoming album, that Perry heard first, and the song triggered a very emotional reaction in her: ‘My body flushed as if I had shot Niacin into my veins, I held back the tears, kept composed and said to myself, ‘Holy fucking shit you just found Jimmy Hoffa!’’
If ‘Morning Phase’ was dreamy folk, ‘Dreams’ has vigorous beats installing a hot and funky dance floor from the beginning, which let you hear a bit of new influences, MGMT, Foster the People, Tame Impala, and old influences, Nil Rodgers or even Bowie’s 80’s dance period.

‘Soaked in Bleach’ is the culmination of the fight of his career, and the movie makes the information available for everyone, in chronological order, killing the myth and exposing the facts. I don’t know if it will make the case to be reopened, but I bet that this time it is totally Buzz-Osborne-approved.

Their sound is pop explosive, bouncy and hard hitting, yes all these drums are not just there to look pretty, but at the end, everyone will only look at frontgirl Liz Nistico who sings with these sweet child-like vocals while doing her restless sexy dance. Dressed in black and glittering gold, which seem to be the official Holychild colors, she was undulating her body, jumping in the crowd, interacting with people with a large smile, looking like a new Katy Perry bouncing on joyous electro-pop or rather like an optimistic Lykke Li on ecstasy.
I don’t think we are ready to colonize the red planet anytime soon, it will take a while until we solve all the technical problems, but this is the ultimate dream of humanity. In the video, like in reality, the journey is slow and long but you have to be patient, and once we are flying over the red planet’s surface, it’s breathtaking
