fun. Campus Consciousness Tour
I would hope that all the schools on the tour are school’s that could really use the education about LGBTQ and that can take full advantage of everything the tour has to offer.

expect to see everyone at the shows, showing support for their favorite designers (many of them presenting collections of their own including Kanye West, Gwen Stefani, Justin Timberlake, P. Diddy, and more
The film opens this Friday September 7th at a very limited number of theaters. VERY limited…as in 10. That’s all we get 10 theaters and a limited run.
I don’t know much about the new album except this superb cover of Randy Newman’s “I Think It’s Gonna Rain Today” was actually recorded in 1970 as part of the Stony End album but kept in the closet till now.
Ocean wants to bring it up, don’t be so damn nebulous. He is either:
1) Gay 2) Bi 3) Straight. Cmon Frank, pick a number
Their songs were alternating between almost naked aching vocal harmonies with spiraling guitars and dance numbers, one of the songs had its Radioheadish moments, and these dreamy-melancholic vocals had something to do with Cat Power’s own delivery, however not her smoky vocal presence
Every gig SP have played in the past decade have been SRO sheds like T5. I can sit down at Barclays and therefore I am going to Barclays. Plus, going back? I can ride the N Train all the way home!!!
By the way Bowie has nothing to do with this show as he pointed out on his Facebook page last week,:
“Contrary to recent reports, I am not a co-curator and did not participate in any decisions relating to the exhibition.”
Most Of My Heroes Still Don’t Appear On No Stamps – Public Enemy – Musically they are stuck in neutral, politically they are color biased, and Chucky Baby, you ain’t as smart as you think you are. “surveeeeey says” This creams all comers.
There were long installments of synth and electronic beats shimmering and searching for the right groove, like crazy fireflies slowly lightening up, just before the warmth of the vocal harmonies would kick up. There were tribal exotic drums mixed with lots of windy synth
Look we all want to be as successful as our siblings. Totally normal, but in the entertainment industry its every dog for himself. If you have to use your sisters name to get a headline its best that you sort of just have a seat and maybe ask to be her assistant or something.
Oddly, Madonna isn’t playing “Superstar” on this tour and Lourdes isn’t joining her on the hallowed ground… still, in ten years time Madonna will be in her 60s? Lourdes? 25…
Put Your Hands Up – Matchbox 20 – Look, I can’t stomach this band either but I did like one song off Rob Thomas’ solo album, and except for the outro break, nicked off “Smooth”, I don’t dislike this: the chorus is catchy as all get out and when they keep it bright and sparkly and ride a lovely little synth lick, it does the job – Grade: B
A bandana around his knee, his long hair covering his face all the time, Conor and his bandmates gave a set charged with a wild energy and many political bites. Desaparecidos could be like Bright Eyes on steroids, after all the voice is the same
There is confidence and there is oblivion. Children of fame often have fabulous tell all biography deals when theyre adults, and some of thse should be as wonderful as Mommy Dearest.
I wanted it to be a little more as if I was writing in the 1920s, kind of the way Cole Porter write songs. The lyrics were written the way they were a long time ago, which was to play with words. Lots of words that rhymed after each other.
I stumbled across Joe Strummers with “Mescaleros” one day while reading some website online. He’s still around? God I loved that guy. A strong influence in my life that made me realize that punk rock could be intellectual rock if it wanted to
Their set was a violent chaotic thing, with thunderous guitars building a heavy and aggressive sound. Baldi’s delivery was sometimes raucous, other times tired and detached, often aggressive and screamed with despair and horror, a
They knew how to keep the audience on constant alert with their muscular and destructive songs, outbursts of bipolar rage, and I thought they wouldn’t able to match the energy on the next one but they were proving me wrong each time.
Lets have a show about the stuff Jagger has done that sucks, shall we? Lets start with the God awful duet with David Bowie for ‘Dancing in The Streets’, the video below made me HATE Jagger and question my love of Bowie. WTF were these two on?
A Post columnist since 1982, Phil Mushnick writes the media cool column “Equal Time” where he slamdunks the ridiculous Mike Francesca and the powerful, ESPN with equal alacrity
Salt N Peppa at Summerstage, were easily the best thing at the WBLS Fest, and there were a lot of great things there. They look hotter, act smarter, flow stronger, I loved them more than I did in their prime on August 12th, 2012. Plus? Peppa is hot.
Where the original had an almost menacing vibe, Branch twangs it up and does that silly fake accent with an almost country lilt. I have heard her sing other songs, this accent is not legit but I suppose Mick would turn his Brit to Southern at times as well.
With a hard concentration on the OK new album, plus a plethora of deep dance album tracks, only a handful of tracks are what I’d call oh great, wow. I’m particularly surprised at the short shrift given to her last great album, Music.
Both Cat Power and Animal Collective sound very good on the first spin, and while this list seems a little on the shrimpy side, it is the first salvo in the Autumn wars. Still, I’ve got this odd feeling I am going to spend the next week streaming Dylan on ITunes.
Feelin’ Alright -Traffic -What Joe Cocker gave the song was muscle, sinews and sweat. It already had funk and swing, courtesy Stevie Winwood who wasn’t that far away from the Spencer Davis Group – Grade: A
Rolling Stone gave the album 5 stars and if that doesn’t impress you (it means squat to me, after bruce and U2), so did Mojo and that does mean something.
All the cool people were rockin’ in the free world with Jigga and Pearl Jam, and the losers were here, with a glazed look on our faces, getting rained on and watching Curren$y’s uninspired set.
As soon as they played, the energy (and the dust) went to the sky and the dense crowd started their intense crowd surfing; soon it was a human tide, boys and girls landing in the pit and getting evacuated one by one by the security in red alert
Is this another gruesome tale of substance abuse, car wrecks, and brothels? Yes and it’s also the second installment of the essential songs of the 1920s.
This is fan video is priceless. Thank God for the cell phone video or we would never be able to share this. I have to take a moment to point out how funny the begining is when the recorder is jostled so much you’d think the guy was getting mobbed
Everything we do you will find the underlying aspect of what we do (myself and Donna) is creativity and collaboration and community. We tried to use that to create content to present to an audience and get them to engage with that. And somehow have an action, reaction, aversion, an epiphany, some experience
I had never heard “All Night Longer” before last Friday night but now it’s constantly stuck in my head and I’ve got no qualms about it. My friends have even told me to stop singing “Tell the bartender make that motha fucka stroooonger” because I’m always singing the song’s fantastic hook.
I gave up half way through their set, letting the four voluminous girls who were pushing me since the beginning, win my spot,… but it wasn’t an admittance I was way too old for concerts, just too old for fighting against imposing 20-year-old who take too much space.
The beginning of the song makes it seem like a really sweet song, with a romantic element and it almost appears like a love song until the chorus. “Go to hell”, the main message, is almost humourous in its delivery.
The Old Gray Hat – Jack Phillips – Astounding song, a 1920s style jazz genre number with melody and heart to spare that does double duty as a self-portrait.
On September 18, the band will release their latest album “Battle Born” In celebration of this the band will be doing a live stream show sponsodred by American Express. The show takes place on September 18 at 7:00 pm Eastern Time
The album is dropping on November 13th, 2012 and talk about having the bank riding on any one thing, this album couldn’t be bigger for the UK X Factor discovery who have now spent a career in the fast lane.
September 24, Prince will participate in a fundraiser for Rebuild the Dream, Foundation According to advocate Van Jones “Rebuild The Dream brings ordinary people together to rebuild communities and work towards a brighter economic future”
Clint Eastwood – Gorillaz – If Eastwood does for the Republicans what he did for Damon Albarn, Obama is in serious trouble. But maybe this was just as much Deltron 3030, who were the best thing about “Rock The Bells” as the Rawhide Kid – Grade: A
He did not make it through the first verse of “Maybellene” or “Nadine.” He played “Rock and Roll Music” twice. The rhythm section was inept (they lost the back beat). When he walked off of the stage, exactly 59 minutes after appearing, it was a relief. It was an absolute train wreck of a performance.
Soon, the dust was high in the blue sky and the energy had reached some new heights on the positive vibe barometer. This is why I love this band, it is impossible to not feel happy when you listen to their bouncy beer-fueled songs
Was Avril the trailblazer for the Clarksons, and the Lovato’s? Some would say yes others may disagree. I think she’s been more influence than shes been giving credit for and I do know that she shouldn’t marry that Maroon 5 guy, its just gross.
We have here an assembly of musical guests on some talk shows. None are good, none are profound and they’re all basically there to promote themselves though you cant flip on your radio without hearing them anyway. In the present ‘social media’ is a hell of allot more efficient then television
I have serious doubts about the setlist, Madonna is in her 50s, and I myself would appreciate a retrospective of her sparkling career when she takes the field at Yankee Stadium on Thursday. What I am gonna get is the newbie plus. Will it be enough? Worth finding out.
I bet Ora breaks big Stateside, Jigga will know what to do with the woman. Elbow are about as compleat contradistinction withRita, though not the surprise arrival Of Monsters And Men, and hey, give Alanis credit where due.
X Factor’s follow up to “Cannonball” is an overproduced blues burner with a highly highly annopying beat. Taylor is still hanging in there, but for how much longer? Maybe the video will get it a push back up to the top. Rita Ora is gonna crossover big time Stateside.
Nas Is Like – Nas – His undeniable classic of a song, beat everything leading towards and away because Nas suffers from anhedonia and everything he does denies its own job. Except this, which is tremendous fun – Grade: A
An atrocious, poorly managed disaster where two and a half hours were wasted and all three major acts were squeezed into the last half hour, and Mr. Vegas, was relegated to less than ten minutes.
Even their rather poor acting in this silly video is more endearing than annoying. They’re not exactly glam rock but they’re beautiful and carry themselves well. They’re not straddling a mic stand, they’re doing their job and looking fabulous at the same time- sorta like me.
