Covers done so badly it makes me glad I found the artist after this was dead and buried. A cruel joke to release such horrible stuff. On the flip side it was released with so little fanfare no one even realized it was there. I curse the satellites for bringing this to my ear drums.

Television offers us a glimpse of musical performance we may otherwise never experience. In some cases such as Selena Gomez and The Scene, it may not always be a good thing. On the flip side its cool to see John Fogerty without dropping a dime and while holding a mute button.

Look at those crazy kids. Who would ever imagine that 50 years later four of them would be considering an annvierasary tour? Rock and Roll legends really never die, they just create enormous rumour mills and defy the boundaries of graceful aging. Then again, where is Mick as the boys ‘jam’?
It takes balls to take on Bowie. Last thing this world needs is a band of egotistical little boys pretending to be able to hold a candle to a genius. Then again, UK based band The Horrors managed to not only cover a legendary song, but modernize and personlize it. I am sincerely impressed.
As a jaded concert goer it takes alot to make me want to shout- but this did it and then some. Set Your Goals is one of the most underrated and fantastic bands on the circuit, a pairing with Four Year Strong is beyond fabulous.

Fearless Records annual “Fearless Friends Tour”, reaches out to some communities but not all. I wonder why they have such limited locations for such a noble idea. Simply calling each venue to get a food banks name or simply entrusting a ‘street teamer’ to do the work would have made this so much more grand.
A band since 2008, founding member Dahvie Vanity has had more wing men than Rock Hudson, not sure why- but he is the only constant. The band plays upbeat party music with a sense of humour. I wouldn’t call them epic or trendsetting by any means. There have been far too many before them…
You Me At Six, is a great band but uh oh, someone needs to put them back on track. The song begins well enough with a powerful beat and deep sound but the chorus? The chorus is the most dreadful generic rock band inspired wavelength of vomit I have heard in a great while. Its as if they just said ‘aww fuckit’ and threw it on tape.

Now nothing more than a low rung Indie band far below caliber of those in the genre that followed behind them. I wouldn’t go so far as to call them grandfathers of the scene, but they had their short lived space and basically ruined it for themselves. Its hard to be a down to Earth Indie band when your front man is an egocentrical..egocentric. Yeah that bad.
Pop star and former sk8rgrrrl, Avril Lavigne faced a jeering crowd of 5 ninjas outside the Roosevelt Hotel in trendy LA armed only with Bruce Jenners kid Brody. Needles to say the results werent pretty and both Lavigne and Jenner had much to ‘tweet’ about. The amusing part is how interestingly opposite their reactions were.. ‘Charges!Chargers’ is more note worthy than ‘winning’

Ronnie Radke, and Falling in Reverse are members of the esteemed Epitaph Records family. I wonder if its financial or if its simply conflict? Regardless of the why, its just plain unfortunate that this hot new band wont make the East Coast this season. To miss an opportunity to see them with the amazing We Came As Romans, is just salt in the wound.
A celebration of the Northern California punk scene “Not So Quiet On The Western Front”, included a fanzine that I studied like a scholar. Some people go to Bible study, I went to Maximum Rock and Roll Study. Armed with this sound, that rag and a pair of oxblood Doc Martens, I put on the X of NY HC (New York Hardcore), and hit the streets with a scowl.
