The Legendary Covers Album: Elton John reviewed.

Covers done so badly it makes me glad I found the artist after this was dead and buried. A cruel joke to release such horrible stuff. On the flip side it was released with so little fanfare no one even realized it was there. I curse the satellites for bringing this to my ear drums.

Music On Your Television

Television offers us a glimpse of musical performance we may otherwise never experience. In some cases such as Selena Gomez and The Scene, it may not always be a good thing. On the flip side its cool to see John Fogerty without dropping a dime and while holding a mute button.

Pretty Reckless, Kill "Seven Nation Army"

Taylor Momsen is drop dead gorgeous with mile long legs. Her blessing of beauty is our auditory curse as she pretends to be a rock and roll Godess with her band Pretty Reckless. I suggest a name change to Pretty Pathetic but hell everyone needs a good poster girl to look at and its nice to see garters just the same.

“Occupy All Streets” , Jay Z Turns Rebellion In To Money

The ‘Occupy All Streets’ T shirt was created in support of the ‘Occupy Wall Street’ movement. Rocawear strongly encourages all forms of constructive expression, whether it be artistic, political or social. ‘Occupy All Streets’ is our way of reminding people that there is change to be made everywhere, not just on Wall Street.

Katy Perry "Popping Out Kids" and Free Concert

“I am giving thanks to all of my fans. This is my big announcement on Ellen that no one has heard about or knows about,’ she said. ‘I played 121 shows up in to the 23rd date, and I want to finish it off by renting out Staples myself and giving a free concert to anyone in the world that wants to come to the California Dreams tour as my last show.”

NYC Chock Full of Urban Cowboys

If you want to wake up in the City That Never Sleeps, I suggest you either have Spotify or some satellite service. The free air radio in the Big Apple is disappointing at best. Whats even more interesting is that its tops for Country music but does not have one dedicated radio station for the Faith Hill and Tim McGraw set.

Mick Jones Performs Clash Tunes Across The Pond

Clash news is always a welcome thing. Mick Jones is about to take Clash songs on the road. Oddly enough he is doing so on the eve of the 10th anniversary of the passing of Joe Strummer. Rather than tribute your old band, would it not be a better thing to tribute the legend or is that how its done?

Rolling Stone Tour Rumours, More Fun Than Fact

Look at those crazy kids. Who would ever imagine that 50 years later four of them would be considering an annvierasary tour? Rock and Roll legends really never die, they just create enormous rumour mills and defy the boundaries of graceful aging. Then again, where is Mick as the boys ‘jam’?

The Horrors Cover David Bowie's "Suffragette City"

It takes balls to take on Bowie. Last thing this world needs is a band of egotistical little boys pretending to be able to hold a candle to a genius. Then again, UK based band The Horrors managed to not only cover a legendary song, but modernize and personlize it. I am sincerely impressed.

Pitbull v Lohan and No One Wins

Its always amusing to watch stars have at it. This particular case has turned in to a legal “I know you are but what am I?” situation. The best part, neither one of them has a clue

Keith Richards: Hardcore "Life" Award

Keith Richards was honored for his book “Life” and true to form made a irrreverent appearance- one of the only rockers left who can stick it to the man and not look like an idiot- or is it that we can no longer tell the difference?

Fearless Friends Tour 2011, Conduct Food Drive, Sometime.

Fearless Records annual “Fearless Friends Tour”, reaches out to some communities but not all. I wonder why they have such limited locations for such a noble idea. Simply calling each venue to get a food banks name or simply entrusting a ‘street teamer’ to do the work would have made this so much more grand.

Interview Abort: Blood On The Dance Floor

A band since 2008, founding member Dahvie Vanity has had more wing men than Rock Hudson, not sure why- but he is the only constant. The band plays upbeat party music with a sense of humour. I wouldn’t call them epic or trendsetting by any means. There have been far too many before them…

You Me At Six "Bite My Tongue", Reviewed

You Me At Six, is a great band but uh oh, someone needs to put them back on track. The song begins well enough with a powerful beat and deep sound but the chorus? The chorus is the most dreadful generic rock band inspired wavelength of vomit I have heard in a great while. Its as if they just said ‘aww fuckit’ and threw it on tape.

Nada Surf Tour North America

“it’s actually referring to something much more existential, it’s just surfing on nothing. Being lost in your head or in your imagination but you know, whenever I listen to music I always find myself off somewhere. Somewhere in space. You know, in mental space and it’s a reference to that.”

RADIOHEAD U.S. TOUR 2012

Now nothing more than a low rung Indie band far below caliber of those in the genre that followed behind them. I wouldn’t go so far as to call them grandfathers of the scene, but they had their short lived space and basically ruined it for themselves. Its hard to be a down to Earth Indie band when your front man is an egocentrical..egocentric. Yeah that bad.

Who Kicked Avril's Ass?

Pop star and former sk8rgrrrl, Avril Lavigne faced a jeering crowd of 5 ninjas outside the Roosevelt Hotel in trendy LA armed only with Bruce Jenners kid Brody. Needles to say the results werent pretty and both Lavigne and Jenner had much to ‘tweet’ about. The amusing part is how interestingly opposite their reactions were.. ‘Charges!Chargers’ is more note worthy than ‘winning’

The Decemberists ready EP: "Long Live the King" Reviewed

There is no grade low enough to describe how truly awful this is. So unless your a white boy with dreadlocks and a hackysack bag… RUN. The ‘two strike your out’ rule comes to call. The Decemberists will gain a whole new fan base now and maybe even a drum circle. I am sad to say I wont be along for the trip.

Foster The People, "Call It What You Want," Video Review

Could you get more cool than having your Wikipedia page explain your band name as follows “Mark Foster originally named his band Foster & the People, but people misheard it as “Foster the People”. Eventually, he took to the nurturing image it evoked of “taking care” of the people, so the name stuck” I think not and their latest video just proves that the band has lost its fringe.

ya figure these cats are older than your pop.. I suggest they hurry. On the 41st anniversary of playing LA’s infamous the band will make some sort of profound statement, tour, record, or just another box set? The rumour is all four original members will be on hand for this ‘monumental’ event. Are they simply too late to cash in on a revival?

Falling In Reverse, Fall Off Tour Roster

Ronnie Radke, and Falling in Reverse are members of the esteemed Epitaph Records family. I wonder if its financial or if its simply conflict? Regardless of the why, its just plain unfortunate that this hot new band wont make the East Coast this season. To miss an opportunity to see them with the amazing We Came As Romans, is just salt in the wound.
