Mick Jones is about to embark on a tour performing Clash songs for the first time since 1982.
Starting at Liverpools Olympia in aid of Hillsborough Justice Campaign, Jones will tour the UK. Details of dates after this charity event are scarce at the moment but the thought of Mick doing Clash songs without the rest of the guys seems as fabulous as it does disturbing. I would love to see this but I have a funny feeling it would just make me horribly sad.
In other Clash news. the charity in Joe Strummers name, Strummerville, will be releasing a 10th anniversary Joe Strummer calendar for 2012, marking 10 years since his passing. The calendar will include 12 months of his most inspirational quotes, previously unseen images and hand-written artifacts from his personal archive; some that have never been seen.
I actually look forward to that- what a wonderful surprise it would be to turn a page and get a blast of Strummer nostalgia. Sounds fantastic- I'll keep you posted on that one.
