The Arctic Monkeys have had some fantastic songs. Great, real and fun Brit Pop with an edge. What's happened is fame and too much time in The States. Proof in this pathetic 'Kalifornia' inspired a on the run video- its ridiculous, its embarrassing and it makes a bad song worse.
I am hopeful that this latest jaunt by the band is a farewell to mediocrity and not a 'honey I'm home' to lame. I believe the band has spent a bit too much time on Madison Ave and way too long with American mall dwellers. No edge, redundant, blase'.. horrific.
