It was a very young crowd, at a few exceptions, constantly using their iPhones and jumping at the same time, the sort of ADD-multi-task-crowd that goes with this constantly-jumping-to-the-next-tune entertainment. I am not offering a blanket condemnation, the title track, “Jericho”, “Welcome To the Ball” are all very good songs. But they can’t keep the album, a conceptual mish mash and a silly move into the mainstream, afloat. It is his worst album to date… though still pretty damn good.
In any case, haven’t all the melodies already been invented, all the styles been set up and isn’t the future of music more or less a rehashing of the past? After all there must be a limited amounts of chord progressions and aren’t all current most successful songs kind of trite…

If English is her second language it is damn hard to tell, and there is a sophisticated pop ready veneer to her. A just waiting to break. But I remain ambivalent. Expecting a mellow rock hipster indie ballad, I found myself hearing a hardcore song. The intense guitar and bass totally thew me off guard, and the vocals were strong and powerful. It’s almost reminiscent of the older punk scene, which I like a lot.
