I am not offering a blanket condemnation, the title track, “Jericho”, “Welcome To the Ball” are all very good songs. But they can’t keep the album, a conceptual mish mash and a silly move into the mainstream, afloat. It is his worst album to date… though still pretty damn good.
In any case, haven’t all the melodies already been invented, all the styles been set up and isn’t the future of music more or less a rehashing of the past? After all there must be a limited amounts of chord progressions and aren’t all current most successful songs kind of trite…

I may not share the Daila Lama’s spiritual convictions (you know, the reincarnation stuff is plain crazy to me) but his message of love and peace is a very positive one, and being recognized by such a man tells a lot about who Adam Yauch was.
I mean back in the day he was swoony as hell and women whipped their underwear at him. At the time having a pair of pink fruit of the looms whipped at the stage was the ultimate in sex symbol swag. I, for one, at age 4 found him to be the most delightfull of gents and was darn sure that dude would make me his wife.
Her songs are strong enough, the buzz around her loud, she hobnobs with the stars, and she can write a song. If English is her second language it is damn hard to tell, and there is a sophisticated pop ready veneer to her. A just waiting to break. But I remain ambivalent. I am not in love with her voice and sometimes it is all a touch to uber-romance blahblah-y.

The theme from the Inner City ethnic comedy couldn’t decide if they believed in them or not, but for all the edge, it was a blueprint for the arrived Jeffersons and top of the food chain. The song is a catchy so and so, pure, er, dy-no-mite – Grade: A-

What’s the deal with Wayne Coyne and blood, he keeps splashing his face with fake blood during concerts, he has already printed posters with his own blood, and now this! I am just wondering two things: How come the blood is not coagulating if this comes from several people?

Expecting a mellow rock hipster indie ballad, I found myself hearing a hardcore song. The intense guitar and bass totally thew me off guard, and the vocals were strong and powerful. It’s almost reminiscent of the older punk scene, which I like a lot.
Some of you may scoff at this old time crooner but that just shows your lack of suave. Yeah, suave not swag. The Rat Pack was and always will be the epitome of suave. Tuxedo wearing men with cocktails woo’ing the ladies and belting out tunes.

Bruce pulled out a card from the audience which had written on it “Play One For Levon” and proceeded to cover “The Weight”. Pretty awesome, plus both “No Surrender ” and “Rosalita”. But stil, way too much from Wrecking Ball. And anway, they didn’t get “Johnny 99” -easily the best song at MSG. And I can’t see anything on this setlist good enough to replace it. Not even personal fave “Bishop Dance”.
