A Rickie Lee Jones cover album? I had hoped it’d be filled with jazz covers, Charlie Mingus preferably, but instead it is standard issue 1960s classic rock for the most part. Jamey Johnson’s hank Cochran trib looks like a better concept. And as long as we are in cover land, I don’t see how another Nick Lowe covers album to top the last one. I mean, Graham Parker’s version of “Rose Of England” is better than Lowe’s original
Lil Wayne has released two lousy albums in a row, IV and Rebirth, neither competed with his past work either musically or commercially and how that has anything to do with New York State.
It reminds me of the frustration of having numerous windows open on your computer.. as you shut each down the noise divides. There are skip beats which totally work but in all sincerity I think the one way this could have been improved would to speed it up a bit.

Silverstein was a band that I basically grew up with. I remember having their poster on my wall in seventh grade, and listening to them and Hawthorne Heights in my bedroom, pretending I was at a show. Every Manhattan Murder Mystery show I have attended has been some epic episode of chaos, with poignant melodies buried in loudness. Another Planet (With Chris Brown) – Jawan Harris – The powers that be were trying to position Jawan as a black Bieber, but he isn’t cute enough and he doesn’t have the songs. Except this songs, a very clever hard heart beat of a track that spooks itself out by the end – Grade: B+

There was no doubt that tunes like ‘Pearls and Swine’ or ‘I’m Gonna Lay Down in Front of My Lord’ from their previous and self-title release, were totally at home at the Grand Ole Echo, with their beautiful country arrangements and gospelish ambiances.

Chapter V – Trey Songz – The tenor r&b sex toy exists to give r. kelly a good name -which can’t be done. Trey, on the other hand, is a slow burner who can’t write a song. Except, Chapter V puts its foot off the metal long enough to sniff your panties, and croon a song – Grade: B-
The new Shinobi Ninja is the best song they’ve put their name to since “Stop”, which it doesn’t resemble in the slightest. The Joe Strummer is a revelation for the way the two songs play off each other. It would have been a middle of the set staple for years to come.
My Rifle, My Pony And Me – Dean Martin – From the soundtrack to Howard Hawks excellent cowboy movie “Rio Bravo”, this is a pure Western song, with Martin’s slow sweet, snoozy end of the day singing. Besides which, he is right. Who needs anything else? – Grade: B+
As a songwriter, he is unfocused and is often a bore on record. Overwriting and over arranging, his world music lacks so much that made the Clash great. He was a great singer, a great great live performer and a great man. And now he is St. Joe.
MTV just premiered their version of The Inbetweeners. I love the UK version- the characters are perfect, they all are wonderfully matched and the show’s chemistry is what makes it one of the funniest shows ever.

“A Hard Day’s Night” is about a family outsiders and you can join em if you’re cool enough to love them. Who couldn’t buy into that? That will sell. That did sell. It ended the Second World War and Paradise Postponed in one fell swoop and lead directly to MTV.
That’s sure a lot of stuff, but it got even better for the US release since the EP will be expanded with six more songs and issued as a standard 12-inch LP.
