Remember about the feud between the Flaming Lips and Erykah Badu about the video for the song ‘The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face’? Badu was apparently mad at the Lips because she appeared nude in the video (with her body double sister), which was immediately removed. We will never know what exactly happened, Wayne Coyne suggested Badu had planned the whole thing all along, and who knows if it's true?
Badu had recorded the song for the Lips’ latest release, but it doesn’t stop the band to re-record and re-film a video of the song, with totally naked Amanda Palmer in the tub and on vocals.
This time, they have skipped the weird stuff that was running all over Badu’s naked glitter ass, and Amanda’s milk-white, armpit-and-pubic-haired body is exposed for five long minutes. Honestly, the Badu’s version was much more interesting, and I am not only talking about her skin color and all that fake blood! With Palmer’s vocals, the music has lost some of its surreal power, and you may get bored quite fast. But Palmer is really naked, that’s the thing, and you have to go on Vimeo to watch it, because YouTube is totally not cool with a naked female body.
