MTV 2012 Video Music Awards: Is Anyone Watching?

Music Television, or MTV as its now called is a shell of its former glory.  No one screams that they 'want their MTV!' anymore and videos are streaming all over the place so its no wonder they had to venture out for more content. the problem is they lost site of music along the way and are still stuck with the name  It should be renamed but they've spent so much money on copyrights and stuff…

So annually they have their Video Awards and Movie Awards and on this September 6th its video awards time!  We American just love awards shows.  Emmys, Grammys you name it we glitz up and pass out trophies.  But does anyone really watch MTV enough to know this show is coming up?  I don't think so.  I forgot all about them and I write about music every day.  The only reason I did remember was a commercial while I was watching Jackass the other night. 

Taylor Swift will perform, Miley Cyrus and her new hairdo will be there and just to make sure we don't think too much about music the genius' over there at party planning invited the freakin US Gymnastics team.  I don't know about you but if I hear the name 'Gabby' one more time I'm going to gnaw off my own leg.

I will tune in during commercial breaks of other shows though.  Thats about as far as my interest will carry me.
