When those five little boys showed up in the recording studio it wasn't a simple task. Hours and hours of material was recorded and you'd think by now it would all be released. The Jackson 5, The Jacksons, Michal Jackson.. and so on, there has to be an end to the material right?
Well when in doubt go back in time. Suddenly there are tracks to be unearthed. Hip-O Select, in cooperation with Motown, has unearthed 32 of these tracks for Come and Get It: The Rare Pearls, available directly from the company on August 31.
The two-CD set is housed in a special box with a vinyl 7" single, rare photos, essays and detailed recording information. The boys do covers of classics such as Mama Told Me Not To Come, Movin'; Up On The Roof, I Got A Sure Thing and Traffic's Feelin' Alright. Those right there are the gems of the offerings.
They were just children when sold into slavery by their father…wait…The Jackson 5 were legendary children who did great tings for the music industry and Motown under the loving guidance of their father Joe Jackson (not to be confused with Jumpin' Joe Jackson from the "Beat Crazy" tune)
This offering is limited to 4000 pressings- they then will be sold on eBay for tons of dough only to be re-released and remasterd at a later date.. bet your bottom dollar on that one.
