The day before the day before Labor Day Weekend, there can't be a better way to celebrate Back To Schooldom than with the force of nature Fang Island at Music Hall Of Williamsburg on Thursday. The Brooklyn based indie rock band's new album, Major, is one of the best of the year, and their good news vibe "we want to sound like everybody high fiving each other" they told the Guardian, lives up to their professed desires.
Monday – Stone Temple Pilots – The Paramount – Hey it could be worse, Scott could be singing Christmas songs or something. At least you'll get "Pop Love's Suicide".
Tuesday – American Idol Love – Prudential Center – Phillip Phillips yeaaaaaah!!!!
Wednesday – Beirut – Rumsey Playfield – Art rockers and good and moody ones. But isn't the venue a little big? Go and find out.
Friday – On Da Reggae Tip – Highline Ballroom – I missed Inner Circle and I am considering making it up with this concert starring Beanie Man who I haven't check out in over a decade
Saturday – They Mynabirds – Mercury Lounge – Worth catching if you missed them last time round, the new album has its moments and live they are better.
Sunday – Bob Dylan – He appears to have left the keyboards behind, wonder if he is plugging the new album yet.
