By Alyson Camus | September 4, 2015

Most of their songs were at the verge of explosion before the eventual disaster was cut short, finishing into the lament of Duzsik’s vocals. Since I could not see any setlist around the stage, I am not sure what they played, very probably many songs of their new album ‘Death Magic’, like ‘Stonefist’, one of their poppiest tunes, which sounds much quieter on record, almost like an industrial track of Depeche Mode or Nine Inch Nails, but revealed itself much more ferocious in its live form. And that was the case for all the songs.

Lil Wayne In Coma, Has Had Last Rites? Tweeting He's Okay???

By Iman Lababedi | March 15, 2013

We don’t need another hip hop star gone and Weezy obviously needs help, either to fix the seizures or get off the codeine or both. This is a risky bloody business and the end results should be self-evident.

Marissa Patermoster Of Screaming Females In Constant Pain

By Iman Lababedi | February 23, 2013

Not being able to play has been one of the most difficult things I’ve ever had to deal with,” she says. “It’s so, so hard to step back from it all, and it was especially difficult to give in to the pain. I felt like a failure. Every night I’d go to sleep and just hope that the next morning I’d wake up pain-free

Wilko Johnson Farewell Tour

By Iman Lababedi | January 24, 2013

Dr. Feelgood, they bled beer and sawdust and an aesthetic so far away from the boogie black delta blues they performed: as though just the shared humanity and financial tyranic burden was enough to forge the two societies into one.

Screaming Females Cancel Rest Of Their Tour

By Iman Lababedi | October 9, 2012

Then I heard she had “mono”, you know, the kissing disease, I didn’t think anything of it but now comes news that Screaming Females are cancelling the rest of their Autumn Tour. Mononucleosis causes fatigue and can last for months on end. The last thing a rock star needs

Bruce Springsteen Suicidal In The 1980s

By Iman Lababedi | July 26, 2012

How about his kids? He never directs his attention on rearing kids. Marriage? Money? His real life is a mystery of luxury to us. And now we know that his deepest emotions in the midst of his fame, didn’t show themselves in his work.

Glen Campbell's Final Concert On His Farewell Tour

By Iman Lababedi | June 29, 2012

Really, of all the slow malingering deaths, this one sucks so bad. All you have is memories, how cruelly indifferent can nature be, to rob them from people. Terribly sad, really. Glen, like so many of us, went through the lot on his road to redemption, and Alzheimer doesn’t take it for us, it takes it from him

Maxwell Cancels Tour

By Iman Lababedi | June 26, 2012

Maxwell’s press release was calming enough but hemorrhaging doesn’t just read ominous (that double “r” is a devil) but Adele cancelled a tour at the height of her career last year and John Mayer is still out of action.

Fiona Apple Opens Up About Mental Illness and Loves Paul McCartney

Can Music Ease Physical Pain? NO!!!!

By Iman Lababedi | June 21, 2012

Music’s power lies in its ability to function in the back and the foreground simultaneously. You can manipulate its presence by the power of your mind: if you’ve ever been listening to a song and gotten a phone call, you will see what I mean: the song instantly changes position in the levels of your brain.

Chris Martin Has Tinnitus

By Iman Lababedi | May 8, 2012

But I think it is probably more than simply listening to loud music as a teenager and more a predisposition to the debillitating injury. It’s not just ear ringing, but mind bending headaches as well. in the end, if Martin can’t hear music properly, how can he maintain his career?

All Into The Dead Pool

By Iman Lababedi | April 27, 2012

Betting on rock and roll death is a suckers game, for one thing ask not for whom the bell tolls, etc. etc, and for another, life is way too random and for a third… well, for a third I would’ve bet that Robin Gibb was gone before Levon Helm.

By Iman Lababedi | March 28, 2012

Even if you weren’t aware of Womack in the 1960s, you knew the Stones cover of “It’s All Over Now”, and even if youw eren’t paying that keen an eye to 1970s soul men no named Green, you knew “Across 110th Street”.

Adele Wants To Lose Weight

By Iman Lababedi | March 21, 2012

Now I fell bad for, er, weighing in at all on the topic. I mean, it’s not like she is obese. A little on the large side, sure. But nothing that horrendous. I mean she isn’t Solomon Burke, right?

John Mayer Cancels Tour

By Iman Lababedi | March 14, 2012

For the great white hope guitarist whose gift is his fingers and his cavalier way with women (it inspired Taylor Swift’s awful “Dear John”),but it is his voice that has stopped him in his tracks with a type of cyst above his vocal cords. He had an operation and with the annoucement of an upcoming tour, the world at large thought Mayer was finally back.
