John Mayer Cancels Tour

You know how baseball pitcher's are always having to do operations on their elbow because they are doing something with them they weren't built for? Something like that appears to happen to throats for everyone from Frank Sinatra to Adele, careers have been stalled for long periods of time.

For the great white hope guitarist whose gift is his fingers and his cavalier way with women (it inspired Taylor Swift's awful "Dear John"),but it is his voice that has stopped him in his tracks with a type of cyst above his vocal cords. He had an operation and  with the announcement of an upcoming tour, the world at large thought Mayer was finally back.

Unfortunately, it ain't over. Johnny Mayer tumbled (?) the following on Thursday: "During rehearsal on Tuesday, it came to mind that I should see my throat doctor because something didn't feel/sound right. I went in for a visit on Wednesday and a scope of my vocal cords revealed that the granuloma has grown back where it had mostly healed. This is bad news. Because of this, I have no choice but to take an indefinite break from live performing. Though there will be a day when all of this will be behind me, it will sideline me for a longer period of time than I care to have you count down."
