Trivial Blur

David Rowntree is the drummer for Blur and apparently a trivia fan.  A staunch ‘Labour supporter’  he stumbled across a nice obscure British law.

Now I’m not sure if it’s worth a hanging but inthe case of Blur it could be a good idea.  There are those few bands with egos that are rather large if not contradictory to their supposed message.  Rowntree has a blog (hell who doesn’t?) on the Huffington Post UK and wrote of a law that states if anyone is caught in public wearing anything that shows political support its against the law.

His quote?

'It is an unusual law, because while you can be arrested onsight for wearing your 'Vote Labour' tee shirt, you can only be prosecuted if the Attorney General authorises it. However, you can be remanded in custody for 8 days while he or she decides, and if convicted, you face three months in prison”

Nothing surprising. Every US state has some random law that no longer suits society.  Why Rowntree decided to make it a great revelation is beyond me.  Let’s hope he gets busted so we can see what happens.
