When is a hit album not a hit album? When it is by two of countries biggest stars and still only moves 30K units. To put it another way, including Grandkids and Great Grandkids, cousins, seconds cousin, and former bandmate’s next of kin, nobody else actually bought the damn thing. Talk about going to pot.
Family Bible – Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard – One of Willie’s earliest songs, written in 1957 and sold to the highest bidder, it sure sounds like a standard now. This is a pleasant take on it, especially the way he sings “i can hear my mother softly singing….” – B

There will be stores (where marijuana has become legal, states like Colorado or Washington) that will sell Willie’s weed. Furthermore, it’s not going be exclusively Nelson’s production, he obviously wants to grow his own, but there will be ‘opportunities for other growers, who meet quality standards’
I think, and I believe I can prove this, that standing for three hours to hear Willie take a catnap is one of the seven rings of hell. It is puishment for all the wrong you’ve ever done. The only way I’d go is if he sang a medley of “To All The Girls I Love Before” and “On The Road Again”.
Always – Willie Nelson And Sister Bobbi – Always a pleasant song no doubt, but can he take it any slower. Look, I get it Willie is an old pothead with a sweet melodious voice and he can make music via alchemy but he can’t make invigorating music by alchemy and this is really faded love – B
For better or worse, this and not “Crazy” or “For All The Girls I Loved Before” is his signature song; it is the definition of a song sung blue, every knows it and the melody is so strong and the words so simple everybody can sing it. The definitive road song – A

I love it when my taste and the zeitgeists taste coincide. It doesn’t happen nearly as much as I wish it did, at least because I am such a pop whote, sales always pricks up my ears. It killed me hating Frozen for months on end. But I love the top two on this list, written about them lots, and seeing them here at the top of the charts is just heaven!
