Once you get past Willie Nelson writing “Crazy” for Patsy Cline, what have you got. Yeah, I know, but that’s just YOUR OPINION, mine is he is the most boring guy in the world. He should hook up with John Legend and Alicia Keyes and get Ambient to promote the tour. Between the three of them I just have to hear their name and I start to nod off.
Willie has that deep lullaby of a voice, listening to him sing is like drinking hot cocoa after a long hard day in the dead of winter. The one time I saw him live, I got a natural high: like when you take a sleeping pill and force yourself to stay awake. Just like that.
Now comes news that he has written another book, It’s a Long Story: My Life, which I wil absolutely make certain I don’t read and that’s for sure, and he will be playing a free concert at Prospect Park on August 12th and I am really bummed because I am washing my hair that night.
I think, and I believe I can prove this, that standing for three hours to hear Willie take a catnap is one of the seven rings of hell. It is puishment for all the wrong you’ve ever done. The only way I’d go is if he sang a medley of “To All The Girls I Love Before” and “On The Road Again”.
