The Annotated Monkees Setlist 2012

By Iman Lababedi | November 28, 2012

Hey hey it’s the post Davy Jones Monkees, and what are we gonna get on Sunday at the Beacon? Not enough Davy Jones songs, for one thing, but more than enough from prodigal son Mike Nesmith who ridiculously waited till Davy died before coming to terms with his history.

Justin Bieber's Believe Tour Setlist Annotated For Your Pleasure!

By Mahalia Dark | November 27, 2012

So on Wednesday all we Beliebers will be converging on MSG to see our boy bring it and how. Justin is a trooper and a good dancer and a lot of fun live. And while I still don’t like Believe all that much, I guess it is better than I gave it credit for.

Conor Oberst Setlist 2012 Annotated!

By Mahalia Dark | November 18, 2012

Even a hardcore Conor Oberst fan such as yours truly found the L.A. setlist from the solo show Alyson covered earlier this year a little obscure, fan unfriendly if you will, and this despite the show ending with the great “June On The West Coast”. Much much better is this setlist from his October 3rd gig in Pomona, Ca

The Rolling Stones Live At La Trabendo, Paris, France, Thursday, October 25th, 2012 Reviewed

By Iman Lababedi | October 26, 2012

The crowd – who only paid 15 Euros for their tickets- went wild as the Stones came back on stage for an encore of ‘Jumping Jack Flash’ and ‘Brown Sugar’…a hot and sweaty night, the Stones back where they belong

Stones Set List 2012!!! (annotated of course)

By Iman Lababedi | October 19, 2012

remember how I bet the rent they would tour this year. well, i won the bet, plus, if Richards had been up to speed it would have been a lot more than four shows, so i win and you suck.

The Annotated Morrissey Concert Setlist (Or A Guide For The US Tour)

By Iman Lababedi | October 4, 2012

Morrissey can do no wrong in books -I mean musically, needless to add. In a remarkable career, he has never released a song, let alone an album, I’ve found easy to dismiss. But here is a hint: Listen to “Year Of Refusal”

The Annotated Bruce Springsteen Setlist Of Your Dreams

By Iman Lababedi | September 25, 2012

The Boss needs help. He needs a hand. He needs rock nyc to write up his set list for him…. and here it is the annotated Bruce Springsteen dream concert!

The Madonna Setlist We Want To Hear

By Iman Lababedi | September 5, 2012

With a hard concentration on the OK new album, plus a plethora of deep dance album tracks, only a handful of tracks are what I’d call oh great, wow. I’m particularly surprised at the short shrift given to her last great album, Music.

Madonna's US Leg Of World Tour 2012 Setlist

By Iman Lababedi | August 31, 2012

The Madonna set sounds pretty by the numbers and godforbid she throws in “Lucky Star” or “Material Girl”, right? Instead it is a steady diet of ecstacy and agony with way too much preaching and nowhere near enough popitutde.

Paul Weller Thinks Bands Shouldn't Reform (Includes The Jam Setlist from 1982!)

By Iman Lababedi | August 28, 2012

“It drives me potty to be honest and I am sick of seeing it. It is big business at the moment and I find it really disappointing and I think all the time that is spent on bands reforming and nostalgia. What about the new bands, or young bands, coming in which don’t get a look in?”

Must See Concert: Justin Bieber's "Believe Tour" Reaches MSG November 2012 (Includes Setlist)

By Iman Lababedi | August 28, 2012

But if it doesn’t matter as music, it is huge as pop signifier, and the proof is that it is still in Billboard 200’s Top 10 months after its release despite having only one hit single. Bieber matters

Green Day At The Echoplex: The Setlist

By Alyson Camus | August 8, 2012

So if you care for them, here is the list of the 24 songs sung by the band (but only 6 songs from their next release ‘¡Uno!’) and some pictures tweeted by enthusiastic fans

Must See Concert: Jay-Z At Barclay's Center (Setlist Included)

By Iman Lababedi | July 14, 2012

His “Fade To Black” retirement gig was his last great concert and it has been downhill ever since, especially the 9-11 charity gig with the ridiculous “I see You” segment . And while I appreciate everybody else raving about the “Watch The Throne” concert, it was tied to a lousy album. and I felt like a bitter old man for being so bored by huge chunks. Plus “Otis” is his worst song ever.

Stone Roses Open Tour After 20 Years (Setlist Included)

By Iman Lababedi | June 13, 2012

Tix have been changing hands for thousands of pounds back in the UK and now I come to think of it: somebody asked me if there was any band around I hadn’t seen that wanted to and I said, no, I’ve seen em all. But that isn’t true. i’ve never seen the Stone Roses and admire them tremendously.

Beyonce's Atlantic City Setlist 2012

By Iman Lababedi | May 31, 2012

I can’t wait to catch her in an Arena. I wonder if this is the first shot across the brow before a full scale tour? And I wonder what she will do with the kid? Now Jigga has retired maybe he will househusband… awww, who is kidding who?

To See Or Not To See? Bon Iver At Radio City (Plus Setlist)

By Iman Lababedi | May 17, 2012

Justin Vernon is a lugubrious bore but his songs can hook you if you don’t have your guard up and while his falsetto at first sounds a form of torture Obama has made illegal against Al Qaeda terrorists (or soldiers: tomatoes, tomartoes), it has grown on me after being inescapable for years

The Beach Boys 50th Anniversary Setlist 2012

By Iman Lababedi | May 5, 2012

It is supposed to be a career retrospective but it doesn’t get too obscure. Nothing from The Beach Boys Love You. . Only “Disney Girls” from Surf’s Up. And entire albums without a hint… maybe not their best albums but still, if they are gonna suck on “Kokomo” why no “Wild Honey”?

Bruuuucccceeeeee At Prudential Last Wednesday

By Iman Lababedi | May 4, 2012

Bruce pulled out a card from the audience which had written on it “Play One For Levon” and proceeded to cover “The Weight”. Pretty awesome, plus both “No Surrender ” and “Rosalita”. But stil, way too much from Wrecking Ball. And anway, they didn’t get “Johnny 99” -easily the best song at MSG. And I can’t see anything on this setlist good enough to replace it. Not even personal fave “Bishop Dance”.

Must See Concert (Plus Setlist): Al Green At The Beacon Theater

By Iman Lababedi | April 4, 2012

Helen Bach watched Rev. Green preach once in Memphis. here is her review: “My friend chipped her tooth”. Yup, that’s all she’s got.

Fiona Apple Setlist 2012

By Iman Lababedi | March 28, 2012

Notice anything? No “Please Please Please”. Really. If you are gonna play for less than an hour at least through in one of your best songs

Bruce Springsteen And the E Street Band Concert Setlist 2012

By Iman Lababedi | March 14, 2012

Bruce believes in his new album. If he thought it was a dog he wouldn’t play that much of it. Which answers the question as to whether Rolling Stone were lying. I think he has overdone “Ball” here but maybe he will shake it up later on. And I can’t believe he is opening with “We Take Care Of Our Own” -though I may be in the minority, I think time will prove me right.

Radiohead Concert Setlist 2012!!

By Iman Lababedi | March 14, 2012

So this set list is from St. Louis and while it does vary from town to town, it is essentially a third from King Of Limbs, a fifth off OK Computers and a whole lotta odds and sods. Plus a new one.

Jay-Z's Setlist, Carnegie Hall, February 6th!

By Iman Lababedi | February 8, 2012

Lessee, oooh look, “Roc Boys” -I love that song. and look at that double dose before the last song of the night, “Jigga What” and “Big Pimpin”… Not to cause trouble or anything, ain’t this an awful lot like his MTV Unplugged gig? Anyway, as Jay-Z continues to cement himself into the mainstream pop experience may I add a loud nolle prosequai, na poo, not me, no Sir, sod him?

Red Hot Chili Peppers Setlist For 2012

By Iman Lababedi | February 3, 2012

So, I took a look at the setlists they’ve been playing and the first thing I notice is, along with “Under The bridge” and “Scar Tissue” is… NO “This Is The Place”!!! Hey, no “Brendan’s Death Song” either. Actually, not that much from the newbie.
